No-one on here or Celica.net has ever done the 4A-GZE swap, though Xpander has done the 20 valve 4A-GE Silvertop swap.
Cost depends on so many factors, such as if you're gonna swap the engine in yourself, which engine you get, whether you get a front clip or just the engine, etc. Give us more info and we can help you out a lot more. Just to give you an idea, I just saw a AE92 front clip with the 4A-GZE for $2,100 at TP Automotive, but I think that that price is very high, considering the engine had 108,000 miles on it! -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

I know this is a dumb question but what is so special about 4A-GZE when you can have a 3S-GTE?

Since i have an ST, it would just cost more money to convert it to 3sgte. I would love to have one but it would probably be a lot more for the 3sgte swap. Plus im not lookin for a really high performance engine really. Just somethin better than then the 105 horses i have right now...lol...i think about 170 hp would be just fine...im not really into racing or anything.

haha whatever happened to all show and no go? itching for some more power are we? I think the key to any engine swap is finding someone who will do it for next to nothing. find the right person and you've got yourself a 4AGZE for less than 3k, and a 3S for less than 4. whats another grand for .4L in displacement and an extra ~50 hp, not to mention a buttload more potential. |

Isn't Jarco getting an AE111 with the black top 6spd in? I thought I saw it on the incomming thing the other day. If you get the gze, you can always turbo it later if you want more power.

Turboing an already Supercharged engine would cost more money, save the hassle and get a 4AGE and add the Turbo.

I was thinking about going with 3s gte but now i think i'm going to doa 4a gze swap. yea it has less power the 3s but i'm not going to be racing. looking online i have found a lot of info on the 4a gze and ge engine and for the st that would be the better swap.

Actually, it works really well. The 4age is NOT a good engine to boost in any way. But by boosting the 4agze, you lose low end turbo lag, yet still have high end power. And, the 4agze's compression ratio makes it all worth while. |
