i have noticed on a couple of the stop lights around town that there is a blue light that is located behind the left turn signal you cant see it unless you are going across that road it is blue when the left turn signal is red when it turns green it shuts off until its red again. do any of you know what that light is for or what it does. anything?

Its the actual trun signal light, its probibly a halogen bulb so it lasts long (thus is looks blue), but what your seeing is really just the signal bulb throw the air hole under the signal so they dont fog up or trap water in them. its only green from the frunt because the plastic or glass lense that covers it is green.

well differant make/model signals have differant ventalation etc. I'm not saying that its that for sure, but its the only thingi can think of to cause that. i guess it could be related to a sensor wither cars are waiting in that perticular line, or something, but does not make much sence

the lights around here have all been switched to LED's. its pretty neat. at first it was just the red lights, cuz those are the ones that stay on the longest, and they wanted to conserve power around here. then they switched the green ones, then the yellows.

After hurricane Ivan came through all the lights that were knocked down were replaced with the led ones. And that was at least 30-40% of them.

I saw during the day that there is an extra thing on the outside of the light fixture so its not the light bulb showing and its not led either.

i thought he was talking about the thing that sits on the wire above the lights...
iunno what it is, but i imagine it to be a camera to ticket red-light runners(not sure if you guys have these) it's a light on one side, and on other side it's like a box with some kind of cone, like the cone is protecting something -------------------- |
