I've seen the how-to for this conversion, however, that's for manual antennas. I have a power antenna and I already sawed it off the car. It had a white cable inside of the antenna that came off with it. The thing is, when the radio is on, you still hear the antenna's motor go off and on when you turn the radio off and on. I need to know how to disconnect that or how to remove the motor period so I can do that. There's several cables in there and I don't know what to do. I don't know if I'd get good signal if I remove the motor and follow the rest of the steps in the how-to on 6GC. Please help. Do I get rid of the white cable that was attached to the old antenna or do I need that? How do I remove the motor or disconnect it so it wont go off? What's the best glue to use to stick the antenna in it?

either disconnet the remote antenna wire (blue) on your stereo or go inside the plastic and remove the power antenna mechism and hook up a regular manual antenna and cut that

You'll need to get to it through your trunk. Start by removing your trunk carpet and spare tire lid. Then remove the trunk back panel. There are several plastic screws to remove, then grab hold and pull straight up. After that is out, go to the right side panel, undo the two screws that are at the front of the trunk (may have to fold down the back seat if it can, mine's a liftback, so it's easy). There will be one more screw on the floor of the trunk and then you just grab hold and pull the panel out (it's held in by clips at this point that snap in and out). You'll see a hole that goes through to the body of the car, and your power antenna will be right there. disconnect the screw that holds it in place on the inside and on the outside, unscrew the top piece of metal (may need to use the tips of pliers to get it started, but mine came off by hand). Disconnect the wiring harness and then pull the antenna cable off the assembly (it will be towards the top of the tube that houses the antenna. Good luck!

ok. i think i got it now. so as long as i disconnect my remote antenna wire, the motor wont go off and on when i turn on the radio... correct? so im just goint to leave the antenna motor unplugged there. so if i follow the how-to on this website, i should be okay, right? i just keep a 6 inch piece of the old antenna and clamp it on to the s2k antenna. is that all correct?

i appreciate everyones patience. lol.
