Ok I will have 450 by the end of the week because Idont have to pay for insurance till march and I want some speakers. I put the 1.0 in the title because my plan is to replace the stock speakers, save, by the premium sound doors, and finally get the extra speakers to put in those. Now I have this head unit already Clicky and it works fine for me so I don't really want to replace it.

What I do need are some recomendations on what to get and where. I have no knowledge of stero's and my goal here is not to make it loud either. I want it to sound and look great doing so. Not too wild about subs either because I am partialy deaf (100% in left ear and hearing aids don't work for whats wrong) so I don't want to damage what hearing I have left. The other reason is I don't want to kill my trunk space, don't care for bass that much (stock is decent as it is), and just not my thing anyways.

One thing I want to have is exposed speakers just becuase I hate the stock grills but the only problem I run into is what to do about the back two. If I had my way I would put oval shaped ones in for looks and fiber glass them in painting them whatever I paint my interior. Sadly though I have never done that so someone else will have to try that frown.gif instead of me. Lastly where should I get this installed? I have read onthe forums amps help quality so what do I need to look at in that department? And finally my budget for the first four speakers and amp would be nice to stay under 500 (without installation) if possible but if it is really worth it I can go higher. (I am making anywhere from 110-150 a week so im not rich but its all mine heh)

oooooooooook, so you want something that sounds good that will not distort at mid-high level volumes..... i have a friend who is mostly deaf in both ears.. but he also has a Damn loud system(dunno why either...)... so you dont want too much bass, but just a little right? i hope so anyway, because music without bass sounds like ass... first of all.. what kind of vehicle do you drive? second off... it isnt a good idea to "show off" your stereo because if it is visible it may get stolen, it also could get damaged in the process(get holes knocked in em..etc..) i would recommend a good set of component speakers for your front stage... look into Adire Audio Koda's, Resonant Engineering components, MB Quart, Focal, Infinity, Rainbow, Diamond Audio, CDT... for the rear, you can either add another set of components or some midbass drivers for that extra little bass... all of the brands up there have midbass drivers, i would personally recommend the Adire Audio Koda's, they are excellent(especially their components, hell everything they sell!!!!) they are about $80 a piece for the midbass drivers(6" and 8" are the same price)... and the component sets are like $350, a little much i know but they will be WELL worth it, i really dont think you will find any other component set that could match them.... just amazing build quality and especially sound.... its exceptionally...well... amazing! the website you can order the Adire stuff i am talking about can either be from www.adireaudio.com themselves, or from www.acoustic-visions.com which is a company that works with Adire.. they sell Adire products cheaper. like the Koda comps. from Adire are $350 plus shipping, but from A.V. its $350 shipped... but its all up to you.... damn this is getting long..... also you will need a good 4 channel amp to push all of this stuff.. so id look into the JBL BP line from www.sounddomain.com their 80.4 is on sale and would go good with them... although this is exceeding your price range so if you want to look into other speakers/components then look at the other brands i mentioned..... you can also get a GOOD deal on CDT comps. at www.thezeb.com ... anyway other 4 channel amps to look at are.... JL, Kicker, MTX, Rockford Fosgate, US Acoustics, Zapco, Orion, Xtant, Infinity, Memphis... i hope i have helped you!! please ask us more questions if you need anymore help....also you will want to go to a car audio store... not Best Buy or Circuit City unless its a last resort!.... oh yeah and have someone do a fiberglass job will probably be over $450 just to have it made and installed.

yes that was helpful heh and I will be asking around here (my sis's bf installs for best buy but he lives in nc and yes he does know how to which is a nice change) to see what my choices are. thanks I won't get to really research this till tonight or tomorrow (work) but after I pull it all together I'll post it up to see what you think. One question about the front speakers is that I saw that it is an 8 inch hole using a spacer several times on the forums. Should I stick with the orginal size or go for larger ones?

Almost forgot I am driving a hatchi that has the stock for speakers with a pocket below the head unit heh.

Edit time before class starts so I was look at the Rockford fosgate punch p4004 due to the reviews and also since it is on sale for 240 which seems pretty decent.

hmm for $240 you can find better component sets, like some CDT's.... i have the 94 Hatchback, but dont have any components, just replaced the stock speakers, Alpine 7803 HU, and a 15" Adire Audio Tempest powered by a RF 3001(for now) in a box tuned to 28hz...... for your 8" question, since they do not make any 8" coaxial speakers... you are better off just getting a 6 1/2(or 6 3/4") component set. unless you buy an 8" midbass driver and a tweeter with a crossover, but i think it will be better just to stick with a 6 1/2"(or 6 3/4") component set.... the reason i am telling you to get component sets, is because they sound alot better than coaxial speakers, and perform better(ofcourse amped that it)... you will have better imaging and you will be more pleased with them than coaxials...but you will have to buy a 4 channel amp if you want the best performance from your components(even coaxials speakers do better amped)... hmm, if your sisters boyfriend knows what he is doing then let him do it.. and if i remember right you want new speakers in the front and back, so that $240 will be too much if you wat another pair and an amp.. i recommend these
http://thezeb.com/p-CDT-Audio-CL-61A-6-1-2...stem-101083.htm

as you can see they are only a $150, and well the reviews speak for themselves.. you could buy two sets of these and!.....
http://www.cardomain.com/item/JBLP804Z to power them..

other 4 channel amps on sale are from... Kicker, MTX(stay away from the Roadthunder stuff if possible), Pioneer, Kenwood, and US Acoustics(they have a good deal on the USC4085 !!) well thats all i have for now, Later.

I looked at those speakers before but I run into one problem I don't have anywhere to put the tweeters yet. If I got the premium doors I would have room for two but that would mean delaying the project for a bit so I could also get the doors (dunno where I will find some eitehr). I think I will take your suggestion and get midbass speakers in the back and if I got those components you are suggesting in the front that would leave a space on each door for when I got the premium sound doors. It is a long way ahead but what would be best for there so I have an idea?

I am not wild about getting a factory renewed amp. It isn't that I don't trust the company but I have known people who have had trouble with getting refurbished as well as some first hand problems. Max I will spend on the amp is 300 it shoots my original budget sky high lol and will take awhile to gather all the parts (get the ones on sale first) but I want to do this right the first time. As for jeff (sis''s bf) he lives in north carolina so he can't help had I had my car two years ago then yeah but not these days he can only advise me. I really appreciate your help on all of this though just one last question what should I be looking at in an amp? I printed out several possibly ones from the companies you suggested but I do not know which are the more important features. Had I more time I would search the web for a guide but I have had a whopping 40 minutes tonight and that includes eating and now I am off to bed heh exams blow.
