If yur gettin a convertible....

This is what happened to mine, and I've talked to a few others who had this problem aswell, but the switches that bing down the back windows loose power and wont work.. Soemthin like that... Not quite too sure....

AS far as burning oil... my car desn't burn a whole heck of a lot... It actually burns real clean too. REAL clean... Its kinda crazy how clean the oil is in my celica tongue.gif

Also another prolblem that might be comon is the antenna... Mine gets all pissy and will make a buncha noise at me...

Then I have no clue if this is common... But the CV-joint... (basically an axel) Somethins up with mine, but imnot too sure if its common or not...

BUt those are basic problems tat i got... Other than that, the Celica is all good biggrin.gif

Mine doesn't burn oil as far as i can tell, does tend to get through it though (probably more my driving than anything tongue.gif ) Antenna is fine, a little wd40 doesnt go amiss tho. BUT i do get a real nasty squeel when i fire it up in the mornings and go full lock to get off my driveway. Heard this is probably the power steering, anyone know how to silence this cos it is kinda embarrassing, makes your car sound like an old banger, just cant have that!! How about fitting a new power steering belt? Other than that, these are sound cars and you could do far worse!!

You can't do anything about it. The sound is created by valve's inside the pump.
Only problem I've seen so far (20000Km) front brakes (pistons) jam once in a while.

CV joints are gonna be a common problem in all front wheel drive cars. I've replaced both of mine they were both factory, at about 110k miles. Just after awhile the rubber gets old and rips easy.

Most common problem was CV joints, which is an easy fix though, on my 6gc and 5gc they have been changed, also the starter is acting up, and the cold start on the power steering that happens to the 6gc too. and the worste problem of all, its hard to do your business in the backseat, not too big biggrin.gif
