i have a 96 GT sitting in my garage, completely gutted, and next to it on a stand is a 96 cobra DOHC engine.

we are gonna sell the short block, and put the heads on a 5.4l block with a 5.8 stroker kit and turbo it.

but first she needs paint, then we gotta do the suspension, followed by a built rear end, motor and trans come last.

we hope to be done in 2 years

good luck with the cobra you plan to get

My friend Brandon has a 2001, or 2002 can't remember, Cobra with a very nice Supercharger upgrade. Its the 402 engine, I can't remember the Supercharger but it puts down over 600 horses to the wheels, that thing is a riot!

BTW Welcome to the site, hope you can enjoy yourself.

Hello.

My next door neighour has a 1998 Mustang with the 4.6 V8 block. Imported from the states. I drive it from time to time.

It's not really suited to British roads to be honest. Great engine and a wonderful noise though.

Everytime you open your mouth, BS pours out.

A GT won't beat a v6 stang. Yeah yeah yeah, you can gimme your hardcore street racers stories, I've looked up their times. You're wrong. An ST beat one? No. And you barely lost to a V8? Did he know it was a race?

I'm not trying to celica bash, but come on people.

I have a friend with a 5.0 and its decently fast, ran a 14.3 and I was right with him in my car. A stock celica cant keep up with a 5.0 whose ever saying that is BS'ing.

slow why don't you shut your mouth if you don't know what your saying
i'm just letting him know my personally experience and i never knocked the mustang at any point in time
and yes i have beaten regular v6 mustangs(if you know those arn't 5.0)
i've raced my friend's ex a few times
and a few other random ones in Va
i NEVER said i could beat all that was never implied either
and as for the GT (which are V8)
yes he knew it was a race, i'm not stupid i've been around this circle for a good number of years...and hey who knows he could have lost because he's a poor driver, mis shift, or just plain LOST
mostly drag comes down to the driver....
like my friend can beat me in a v6 mustang
but another can't its driver mostly
and just cause you looked up times? ha that doesn't mean a thing unless its a drag car on the street MANY things influence times...street condition, engine ware problems, modifications, traction, air temp....
there are many factors and if you don't know this then i wouldn't talk cause your going where you don't know

i've seen a late 80 early 90s civic hatch(N/A) beat a GT mustang with some good mods by over 10 cars

oh and for "hard core street racing stories" theres none of that fast and the furious BS out here

and you are celica bashing......there are by far many celicas out there that can take many mustangs, civics, ludes, integras, and so forth.....
and VICE VERSA you just can't think sumone is lying
personally i consider everyone here my family
and i'd trust what a person is saying unless its TOTALLY obvious in thier statement that beyond all doubt they are wrong and i would let them know the difference and not bash on them....
but dude you need to get your panties outta a twist

Christ, I *just* break 14's. In a straight line drag from a roll, this 4.6 V8 next door is very strong.

Damn near 300lb/ft of torque. I can lunch it off a standing start (huge traction advantage) and on a real road the 'stang just doesn't see which way I went.

But it's not built for that.

And I still want that low rev throttle response and noise.

It's a 1998 40th anniversary edition I think. Not an SVT.
