its cheaper to put in a moded xbox and use that. i think the most expensive thing would be to get some type of touch screen that lets you operate the pc while driving.

dont know of any specific sites, but the basic idea is to buy a mod chip and install some of the media center apps that are out for it. then you can load up tons of mp3s, movies or games on the xbox and play them from the harddrive.

its not a mod chip you install, you install a new HD that is preloaded with emulators and hundreds of games. It also has the ability to copy a game to the new HD. Microsoft frowns highly on this, so any modded Xbox cant connect to xbob live anymore, but if its being used for a car then game on!

Search eBay for Xbox Harddrive.

my boyfriend custom built a computer and put it into his car with a dvd-rom so he had all of his mp3's and movies.. and then he had a 7.5" lcd screen in his dash... worked great, and only cost about $300CAD

Chrobis, you NEED a mod chip to run any unsigned code. the harddrive is an upgrade you can do but it wont let u load the media center or hacked games without the chip installed.

i was actually getting ready to do this. i just need to finish my turbo... got to have it fast before i make it fun for my friends. i was actually thinking of using a 10 inch touch screen lcd my dad has... but it is so big and bulky.. it is way old school. that is out of the question.. so i am looking at other possibilities right now. and lagos is correct you must furst chip and reprogram the box... then you can add different hard drives programs and what not.

^Actually true, downside is that you can't turn off the mod on the xbox so you can't play live, reason why its reccomended to get the chip if you do want to play online. But most of the time for ex: someone has a modded xbox, they can bring theirs over & flash your xbox to be modded w/o the chip installed, one of my friends had his xbox modded like that.

And super, my carputer is a touchscreen

cost was just under 900 to get the whole thing up and running

buy an xbox cheap, then go to this site for mod chips. Mod CHips
this guy is awsome i bought mine from him and he packages everything nicely and ships very quickly.

you can run your regular HDD which is either 8 or 10 gigs depending on what version you have. BUT you can only have like 2-3 games on the 10gig HDD. I myself have an 80gig with around 20 games, with an xecuter 2.6 chip.
