But the biggest thing making them street legal i well try and do this in the next 5 years or so -------------------- yea your 3sgte is cool but ill stick to my 7agte

but yeah, if mexico dose have celica's i want to import a gt-4 there then change the vin# and bring it into the u.s. if it's even legal to bring mexican cars up!
do you know how they check cars and trucks when crossing the border to get to the u.s.? i was thinking it might be possible to load one on to a truck and sneak it in. i've heard of someone doing that with an evo. know anything about it? -------------------- my long awaited celica,

thats the most retarded thing i've heard of ^^^^^^^^^
"Yo Dom" "Ya Brian" "lets put my skyline in a box van, cover it in with boxes with books in it, then drive to the US from mexico" "Brian WTF are you thinking, you just said "lets go to jail"" "yea but it'd be fun" "what ever spilner" if you wanna do a gt-4 in the US first import sumwhere close to you canada(pretty lax up there) then hopefully you have a GT celica take the dash off and switch it with the gt-4 (the VIN plate is on the dash) remove the US stickers on the inside of the drivers door put on gt-4 door find VIN in your engine bay grind it off OR fill it in with anything(bondo would be easy) grind in your VIN paint it over then take a universal catalytic converter weld it into the STOCK GT-4 piping that should cover you for the ID and emissions laws but then again i'd take it to my GP house and thats in MD with no exhaust law |

Mexican cars can me titled in America but you'll need import/customs papers to do so, that means you'll have to title the gtfour there first then import it to america. Theoreticaly it'll work if Mexico will title it there. I'll double check tomorrow about what all is involved to import a car from Mexico/Canada when I go back to work tomorrow, each state will be different but the federal information should be the same. Any information about what it takes to get a car titled in mexico is beyond me though.
On a side note: You might think about importing as a "parts car" and then titling it as a specialy contructed vehicle. Here is a link to the Kansas specially constructed vehicle affidavit. http://sedgwickcounty.org/tag_office/pdf_files/tr91.pdf -------------------- Project ST204.5 99.88946% complete... |

it can be done, foriegn cars can be driven in Mexico with a temporary registration tags, so cars shipped from japan or the US even if illegal safety/emission wise can still be driven in mexico, you just have to show passport, proove your a non mexican citizen. ship the car to mexico get the temp tags, avoid mexican cops, drive to border crossing with border guards and no customs, leave mexican tags on or swap your celica american plates on there.
Talk to mexican consulate about getting your temp tags, I would try to deal with the mexican federal government as much as possible as the local s are crooked. |

More information about importation:
Title and bill of sale are required, as usual, and you must have at least one of these forms: http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/import/hs799short.pdf http://www.dtic.mil/whs/directives/infomgt...orms/dd0788.pdf http://www.cbp.gov/linkhandler/cgov/toolbo...01.ctt/7501.pdf Keep in mind that this is federal information and each state may require additional information/inspections. thanks for the info people. but about bring a gt-4 into canada instead of mexico, i heard their laws are as much hard as u.s. laws in importing cars. don't want to go trough that, that's why i'm asking about mexico! and about the switching vins and all, even if you do all that, what about the whole thing with the RHD?! wouldn't they notice your driving on the other side even if you switch the vins and plates to u.s. ones? i just want to get one in the u.s.!!!
