Ok, if I go NA (which nobody ever does with the 7a, so it would be unique) I would run a bout a 10:1ish compression ratio, have a 4ag small port head ported and properly worked. Run some really nice cams and ITB's. All of this would net me less than 150 whp, and probably more along the lines of 125ish. the bottom end would also be re-built with proper pistons and rods capable of about 7500 RPMs
IF Turbo, I would keep the 7afe engine set up. Differences would include nice pistons and rods with ARP studs all over the place. The head would also have a nice port job done, and the intake manifold would also get some serious work done. For all that would be installed I would keep the 9.5:1 to keep regular driveability. I would use a T3 and boost about 9lbs.. maybe 10 considering the mods (possibly up to 12 depending on my opinions once the engine is broken down) This would make about 180-190 whp Price would be VERY simmilar.. almost identical. Tell me what you would do. Different is cool, but all that power is nice. Jon This post has been edited by FallenHero: Jan 21, 2005 - 12:46 AM |

for what you are doing..... you should go turbo for the money you will spend anyways
if the price is close then you might as well make the most hp:$ that you can and if you want pistons you will have to go to ARIAS or WISCO or JE and have them make you custom(you cna run a GB right there) pistons for the 7afe (FI or NA) and you defenitly need to shot peen your rods This post has been edited by playr158: Jan 21, 2005 - 12:49 AM |

I know everyone's gonna say turbo... cause that's easy. I'd say n/a... but power and performance are not "neccesary" things... so save your money and do something else. Working on cars should be a fun past-time, and not made to be a competition for power. ;]
