OK. I just got this really sweet thing for Christmas called a Zen Portable Media Center (referred to as PMC from now on) by the company Creative...they sell them at Best Buy for about 500 USD. Anyways, it gives you 20GB of storage for pictures, movies, tv shows, and music. It has about a 4 inch by 4 inch screen on it and the clarity is beautiful. I see all the time people wanting to put TVs in their cars so they could watch DVD's or whatever. Obviously it has no RCA inputs so that's the only downside about this rather than a TV. BUT, I found a way using my XM Radio's car kit to run the audio signal through the stereo in my car. Really simple to switch between the XM and the PMC because you just take the 1/8" jack out of the XM cradle and plug it in the PMC headphone jack. The carrying case that comes with the PMC allows you to stick the folded out ended in the compartment underneath your stereo and it stays there just fine. Only bad part is you have slight coverage of your climate control stuff. Anyways, it's really awesome. I have two movies on it, a few clips of the Chappelle Show where he impersonates Lil Jon (f-in hilarious!), and about 300 MP3s. It's the tits, and can be taken out on the spot to bring it back in the house or just to use again as what it was meant for. I just wanted to post this to recommend this new product to people interested in being able to watch DVDs or whatever on long road trips, because at $500, it's much cheaper than getting a DVD player for your car as well as the TV and then hooking all that crap up. Also, since the Celica is pretty compact, even people in my backseat could see the screen without getting out of their seats, just gotta lean in a tick. Sweet gadget.

That does sound pretty nifty, but I dunno about a 4x4 screen... That's one plus about the 7 in ch monitors. But overall sounds like a helluva device.

Odd, my 7 inch touchscreen monitor was only 400 dollars; if I only got that and a DVD player I'd be well below 500...

Well, all I know is that everyone now wants to ride in the car again. But awesome for you shid that you got a nice deal. One thing though, can you take your TV and whatnot on the airplane? On long road trips where you aren't driving? Is it portable? See these are all plusses I was pointing out. The system is very versatile...I can put it in my car and have all the MP3s and movies on my computer right there at my fingertips to listen to or watch, or I could even unhook it in about 10 seconds and bring it elsewhere if need be. I can bet you aren't able to do that with the TV you have in your car right now.

mp4 is not a high end music format, mp4 is a compressed video format.

mpeg4, its what itunes and ipod's use

edit: mpeg4 is actually the file extension m4a, the guy in pimp my rides didnt know what the hell he was talking about (as they often dont), and just spat out a term. mp4 is audio, and not video.

btw: I love the 240sx episode, in the sense its so easy to make fun of... I love what the one guy said, "You can't talk about the import tuner scene without talking about 5zigen" YOU TELL US WEST COAST CUSTOMS!
