We were all newbies once...I think everyone should go back to their very first posts and show that they made stupid mistakes at some point too...There really is a lot of hate towards newbies that is really undeserved. Not everyone knows that there is a search function, or that this stuff has been discussed before. So I'll get us started (even though I haven't been here very long).

I've seriously been looking into saving up for one of these engines, but in addition to the enormous price (all of which I would have to pay for off $8.50 an hour for now), I don't know if it's going to pass smog in California, because we got it pretty strict here.

Anyone around here who has one know? I don't wanna be an idiot and invest all this money into an engine that I won't even be able to run legally; it would be a pain to have to add on to the cost of the swap, just to get it to pass smog.

oh man such a newb move

I think this is mostly directed to Coomer. Did you use PHP Nuke to build this website and the forums? if u did, did u have to tweak the files at all?

QUOTE(fastgt @ Jan 18, 2004 - 9:37 PM)
I've been really thinking about doing something major to my celica but I'm not sure what to do.  Given that everything turns out the way I planned i can get the 3s swap for 4-5k.

Now I was also thinking about rebuilding the 5s with new internal and strapping a turbo to it which sounds cheaper, but I need to know if it is really cheaper

Also I heard that the 3s head can be swapped to the 5s block, can a 3s head from (just an example) a junked mr2 with a 3s be put on my motor

I've done alot of my research so I know the details of both sides but I wanna know the opinions of you guys for internals and how your projects turned out for the 5sfte and 3sgte

I'm sure questions like this have been asked before but I need all the help I can get before I start spending the money I have saved up

and i still havent finished the 5sfte

Jo, i just got back from HELLA and one bodyshop, and i got some prise list: All convension will cost me about 350$ (with paint and these round LED tail lamps and atc.). So i will go for it.
What about Supra lights convension, no thanks, it looks kind weird to me... i'd rather use civic coupe tail lamps instead of supra...

Mustangs = Domestic Honda Civic *blah*

Here's one of my earlier posts. I made it when some random guy came in and started bashing on Celicas and started bragging about his Mustang or something worthless like that. He didn't even spell Celica right. According to him, it was SELICAS SUCK and Mustang Man.

Dang. I love that! stripped to perfection  . I might just half to take my stock GT wing off. that back end is great withough it i never would have guessed. it dose look like the supra, thats nice. look at the second pic, cover the frunt bumper with your hand, and is it me or dose that have a ferrari kinda look to it.

If that kit is for sale (maid to fit 94 celica) then I want it.

oh, and yeah that van got owed.

Jan 10th, 2004 (my first day on the post) (13 days will mark my 1 year membership)

eh, its not as bad as I though it would be, dont know about the "ferrari" thing but whatever. I went though a lot of my first post's but non of them seemed that bad, I think I was too shy to say much more then a line or two. I did take my stock wing off too.

I was talking about this celica I think.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v246/cre...ice_celica3.bmp (wont let me post it so just click to see, its the silver celica with a custom kit etc. still pretty nice in my eyes.

Hello everyone.

I own a 97 celica st and i'm thinking about turbo or supercharging. I'm tired of turning my head and pretending not to hearing some guy in a prizm rev-me-up and try to run me at the light. All my friends think its fast because of the way it looks. I just need a little more power maybe 50 or so more horse. I'm not expecting much, I know I wont stand a chance against a Engine swaped celica with a 3SGE. ( my main concern) Will the celica still pass smog with force induction? And where can i find a supercharger? I need something with very little mantainence and doesn't kill my engine. Another thing that worries me, is that my celica is an Automatic, how will that work under boost (will it hold up)? i wont need to let off the gas to shift gears so do i need a b.o.v? Is it okay to run the s/c turbo with everything else stock? ( i know i need to upgrade my injectors ECU Fuel pump ect. but i need to slowly upgrade) I'm a noob with all this performance stuff, but i have worked on cars b4 like replacing an engine.

Thanx alot guys. sorry 4 the long post

i'm such a noob!! and i still am..

Is there any way that you can convert a standard front whell drive Celica to an All Trac model? Just wondering, I've been looking into a 3S-GTE swap and I really want the All Trac system in my car. I haven't been able to find anything on the web about a conversion so its looking bleek.

Now if that is not a Newb Move I don't know what is.

For those that dont know what broken arrow is its military code meaning that someones in trouble and is calling for all the help of allys, in short. Im a US Marine on leave at the time im posting this. 2 days ago my hometown was flooded and my car got caught in the flood i tried to get it out and flooded my car out. Damage include a bent rod, cylinder wall damage, and the bottom of the piston slammed into the crank. Now the damage by my calculation is more to repair that engine then do a 3sgte engine swap. I anyone with experience doing it can give me insight or some kind of help it would be much apprieated.

thanx
bryan smith

wasnt my first but its as far back as it will go...

ohh well that was when i was moto and blew up my first engine lol

I'm planning on putting a turbo into my 94 GT - and im thinking CT-26 outta a supra and maybe if i can fit the intercooler, that too. Plus high compression pistons, new (possibly kevlar) clutch, but I think im missing something...keep in mind im not set on this CT-26, but the kit from Buillen or whatever boosts about 45hp pushin 5psi, not too much considering its 2500 dollars. Ne body ?

WTF?! Maybe fit any intercooler? High compression pistons? Damn I was newb.
