So Amy and i decided to go test driving of cars and the first (and the only) was a scion dealership. I wanted to test drive the box and i was gonna test drive a white manual one but as we were about to walk out one of the other salesman said "why not let them take this one out" it was the one they use for car shows and that has won them a couple trophies. So they pulled it out of the showroom and i was telling them all to not watch cuz i was probably gonna stall but that clutch was so easy! granted the car had no go - 108hp i was told with a supercharger coming out in the next few months that will add about 50 more hp. It was fun though! VERY VERY ROOMY! I wouldnt mind one if it was gonna be my daily driver and i could keep the celica.

well scions werent meant to be fast i dont think - just was supposd to appeal to 16-24 year olds i believe and have a wide range of aftermarket parts that could be purchased at the dealership. So it was meant to be cheap - speed does not = cheap!!!

The special editions will more than likely be Absolutely Red...the 'Limited Release' Scions are all getting red as far as I know. Yellow would be odd. Who knows.

According to the Scion website, the tC supercharger isnt an option so I dont think its out.

XB weights in at 2300lbs.

test drove one over the summer. slow atx. id get it just for daily driving and road trips.
then i started looking at the honda element.
smaller, but it comes in AWD which will be good in winter.
thats prolly what ill get in the spring as my daily driver.

Nat I was thinking. The xB already has a Release Series/Limited Edition version out...it's orange though. Hot Lava...I think your dealer guy is smoking dope. They usually don't have the facts straight, in my experiences anyway.

I think she is right, the lava XB's were series 1, the red XA's were series 2... If that yellow XB comes with a big sunroof I just might be all over it...

Ah a Series 2...I get it now. I dunno...I think a yellow xB would be oogly and a half. But the Absolutely Red xA's are snazzy. That moonroof is neat. I'm shocked they don't have moonroofs as options on Scions anyway. I mean...what the heck?

The dealership where my mom got her xb also had an xb with a sunroof (obviously custom)... but it it looked really nice and was a HUGE sunroof.

Fun car to drive, nice tight handling for a... um... a box and it does have a clutch that I wish I could have learned to drive on when I was 15.

their deal is 40mpg in the city.

Also, look at it this way. The Xb is roughly 100 pounds lighter than the ST hatch and only lacks 7HP. Hrm... and still pushes 40mpg in the city.

My next car will be a Xa. 6 footers can sit in the back and I'd only have to visit my gas station buddy once a month. For fun, well.... thats what my 4-eyes girl is for.

dont believe anything that the dealer says... those guys dont know anything about the cars they are selling. When scions first came out I went to the dealer and was checkin em out and the guy said something like "yeh they are coming out with a scion convertible in january" which was all of like 4 months away

My friend has a white xB, well call it the milk carton or tofu box tongue.gif I was really suprised how roomy it is inside. The supercharger keeps on getting held back so don't expect it to come out anytime this millenia. Overall I think its a pretty cool car. It has ok power but on hills with people and subs in it hes lucky to hit 50 mph. It handles well but with alot of body roll, but for the price its something that really cant be beat. Wonder why toyota didnt put in the 1zz-fe from the corolla or celica gt confused.gif

Hmmph if scion is trying to cater to a younger crowd they are doing a poor job of it because their are more 7th gen celicas at school then their are scions. (note I know several people who bought the celis and they were used)
Personaly I don't get what the appeal is with scion they are ugly things imo. Back on topic though 40 mpg sounds more like something a middle aged driver is going to care about not a teenager.
