I have a 94 gt ive had my baby for about 4 months now, and due to money complications i haven't been able add any mods. I've been reading quite a bit, I noticed that most of you guys would rather swap to the 3s-gte than add other mods to the stock engine- correct? if so, than where can i find this engine, does it swap easily, me and my dad have swaped engines before so I was just wondering? Thanks guys

The swap is pretty easy to do... expessially if you have some experience with swapping engines before...

You will need to locate a 3sgte, tranny, ECU, and the wiring harness.
You may also want to locate a gt4 front clip... but not necessary.

The motor will work with the stock mounts but you would be better to get new ones from TRD... you will gain a little torque doing this.

It would also be smart to get the rear end out of a gt4 so you will have all wheel drive... but you will need all new suspension on the rear half to do this your stock struts and shocks, etc will not work.. you need to relocate the gas tank and do a little cutting to fit the pumpkin.

To do just a basic swap you are looking to spend $4000-5000... but you would spend this just to get a 5sfe engine close to the power of a 3sgte... there are also a lot more performance parts for the 3sgte.

If you want more info about doing this swap you can email me

Sorry I didn't tell you where to find one in my other reply.

The quickest and easiest way to get one is out of an 90-95 MR2... but this is the weakest version of the 3sgte avalible. You can find this from junkyards and any America engine dealer.

Another way is to locate one out of a 5th gen celica alltrac.. you should be able to find one through a junk yard or any America engine dealer... This is also not a very strong version of the 3sgte but it is not bad.

For a stronger version of the 3sgte you will need to look at the JDM versions of this engine... to find one you can start by looking at ALLTRAC.NET. You will also be able to find JDM 3sgte motors through companies that deal exclusivly with JDM motors... try a search engine.

It may take a while to find one but if you look hard enuf you can get them for really good deals.

Also if you decide to get a JDM version try to find a 3rd gen r/c they are the best version of this motor but there arn't alot of them left and will cost you more but well worth the money biggrin.gif If you can't find a r/c then try and get a 3rd gen group A or B of the motor... aslong as its a 3rd gen your gonna be pretty good on horse power... any of the 3sgte's are alot better than what you have now but the better the version the less it will take to get it where you want it.
