they're the same trim. Like batman said tho; you'd have to make it work, and the temp readings are in C wink.gif

if you did manage to get it to work all you would need is a new sticker to convert it over to F

the switches aren't a problem, it's the temperature control that's gonna be a pain.. its electronic, ours is mechanical.

me thinks you need to look at a toyota manual for a gt4 becuase something tells me this could work if you got a few other parts (and I would be interested in doing this if you figured out what all is needed)

I looked into this WAY back in the day... first off, like it was already said, its electronic, not mechanical, so you need LOTS more parts than the control housing... You ned the air temp sensor control for sure, and I do have reason to believe that the A/C compressor is completely different because of the ECON mode (aka it utileses a lower power output to steal less power from the motor)... IMO this conversion isnt feasable on USDM"s... ohh and BTW, it isnt just the GT-4 setup- all celica models jdm 6th gen use auto climante except the SS-I's...

Still working on it... I am still not sure how the electronic tem control works. Most likely are servo's.
I'll come back to it.

this unit is for the A/C equiped GT4 only... and all the other units on the GT4 are different (are controled by the motors, electricly)... i think it worthless mod, cuz you would have to change lots of parts to get this to work...

hey,
i have working unit in my GT4 ... you need way more then what they include or what you can get in states ..

for all the work you have to do to make it work properly it is really not worth it ..

you also need dash sensors (jdm only ) for under steering wheel and on top of dash ..

but it is your $$$ so waste anyway
