Well... He said I cant drve it long distances...But he basically said I cant drive it anymore...

Which means good-bye social life and hello again to "havin-someone-else-give-me-a-ride", or "back-to-wasting-my-time-at-home-again"

GOD DAMMIT IM SO FRIGGEN PISSED! mad.gif

My damn celica's problem is getting worse... We found out the problem is not the CV-joint, cuz the car would make a strange noise when turning if there was something wrong with the joint, but there is seriously something wrong with how the friggen car rides. We have no f**king clue what the hell is wrong with it, but we found where its coming from. Which is the back tire on the passenger side... Then we gotta figure out whats going on with the front on why it makes that wobbly sound... Then.... take my celica to the shop to get fixed. mad.gif

I wouldnt be so mad about it, if I had another car to drive around instead of my celica, but thanks to my sister, she got the craptastic Acura stolen. Well, even if the acura wasn't stolen, I wouldn't be able to drive it cuz my sister would have sold her civic (which also has been stolen, about a month ago... Yep 2 cars stolen in 2 months), but then she'd have to drive around the Acura, which is now gone...

Dammit! Even if I were to drive the Acura, I would havta learn driving stick-shift all over again.... And I'm the only one in the family with an automatic too....

But yea... Im just pissed off because I have places to go, and my dad wants me to stay home and have no life... He made comments that I always make "Unesessary" trips down to my boyfriend's house. My boyfriend lives like a 1/2 hour away from me, but still! I still wanna see him.... And he doesn't have his liscenes yet, so he cant take himself home...

Ugh! This sucks... frown.gif My dad gve me the choice...

I can drive my car, an make the problem worse with it....
Or
I can stop driving it so much and only drive it for work an short disances...

NO way in hell am I gona choose to make my car worse than it already is....

I would reccomend taking it to a shop ASAP. The CV joint isnt a huge problem, but you should still fix it sooner than later. Mine was fixed for about $300, and your other noises could just be road noise, misalignment, bad strut....etc

Just stay on top of its maintainence and I'm sure you'll be much better off mentally and financially. As far as him not wanting you driving it, is it just because the car has problems with it? Also I'm assuming that your dad owns it...otherwise you best be driving it no matter what he says. I'm glad I own my car, because I never had parents telling me what to do with it.

if it isnt the cv joint its possibly the wheel bearing, if not maybe the wobbling is a bent rim. also check the struts... bad tires...probably will be the wheel bearing though. when my bearing gave out( 3 times) my tire shook like hell , and the annoying clicking sound.

What he said, mine does the same.
The tire was humming al the time so i put a new one on it. And after couple of months the humming was back again so the bearing must be bad which causes the tires to wear off.

i once had a car that wobbled at around 70 mph. i'm not sure if that's the same problem your car is having now but some things to check are the tie rods, the control arms, the hub and the rims/tires. but i'll check the rims/tires first because right after i got a set of new rims and tires (which was after i replaced the tie rods and lower control arms), the car didn't shake anymore at all. good luck fixing it up. peace out.

Sorry, you're whinging because you can't drive because the car is broken?

Bloody hell girl. I got my first car when I was 21. I couldn't afford one before that.

The world doesn't owe you a running car. Work out how to fix it, or pay someone else to fix it.

That simple.

This is why I bought my own first Celica with my own money at the age of 13 (mowing a sh*t load of lawns and such). It was a POS 2nd gen 5-speed hatch with a slow as hell 22r engine but I loved her and best of all MOM couldn't say sh*t about when and where I took it cause I had my own job and money.

I agree with someone else above - the world does not owe you a running car. And sure as hell not a 6th gen Celica - I had to save cash untill I was 22 to get my first 6th gen. And I loved her all the more for the effort.

Good luck - I say rebel!

Nah I meant 13 - I couldn't drive the thing for 3 years except when I snuck it out a few times when I was 14. At 16 I had to redo the brakes and replace the battery and the thing was good to go again. biggrin.gif

okay okay....

to respond to a lot of yur all comments...

My boyfriend is working on the liscenes, and I dont mind that I drive us aroud. I really dont. I like driving... maybe a lil too much. what can I say its fun smile.gif But if I hated driving, then I might not be so happy to drive me and my boyfriend around. But i really is no big dal. When my boyfriend gets his car and liscenes (which is soon) he said he'd pay me back for all those times I drove him around and he would repay me by driving me around. tongue.gif

But i dont expect the world to gimme a runing car. Yea I may of bitched a lot about not being able to drive my car, and how much it sucks... But the only reason Im basically bitching is cuz I bought this car all on my own... I had no help buying this car from my parents... My dad even offered to pay for my 1st car, and I turned down his offer and bought my own car. Now, I was bitching cuz I dont want anything to happen to my car... I love my car... I might love it too much... But I dont want anything bad happening to it. So its got me stressed a bit. Im sure you guys have felt the same when something happend to your cars..... But its not like I cant drive it.. Besides from how it rides, the car runs perfect. Im just worried that if I keep driving it the problme with how it rides will worsen.

As far as getting my car fixed... It is going to the shop when my dad gets money from a project he's been doing. I offered to pay for the fix up but he said he's gona pay for it. I havta buy the alarm system and any other thing Im putting into my car.

As for the problem.... We think the problem is a wheel bearing. And whoever said I might have ran into a curb.... LOL I didn't... Im not a crazy psyco driver like some of you guys in this site tongue.gif I drive extremly careful... I do have my slip-ups while driving, but not to the point where I ram my car into a curb... But speaking of rims.... My stock rims weren't in the best of shape... they weren't when I bought the car too. I think they might be bent... Which might not be sucha bad thing... Well its bad, but its notbad cuz that means I can get my rims I wanted sooner! biggrin.gif Yay! But I think the owner before me, or the owne wo totaled my car about 7 years ago, might be responsible if my rims are bent...

But yea.... My celica is gong to the shop soon, and will hopefully be back to normal....

also if ur rim is bent theres a shop up in lynnwood that can straighten it for i believe mine was done 90 bucks a wheel!

my two wheels are bent - and have been for a year * i only got 2 of them fixed at the time cuz its all i could afford* so yeah ive been riding on two bent wheels for a year and its fine. it just pulls where ever it wants to go and the steering wheel shakes a bit.

Buying a sports car 3 years before you're allowed to drive it. I like that.

Shows real hydrocarbons for blood.

Ah. My humble apologies then.

Mine is currently (stiill) awaiting the fitting of new wheels, a new clutch and flywheel and the ABS sorting. So I'm in sort of the same boat.
