well after todays drive home from school, and dropping off all my friends (4), i come home and smell this burning smell coming from my car. it smelled really bad, and was pretty strong. i smelled this smell before, but thought nothing of it since it went away, but this is really strong. not sure what could be causing this? im not sure if my friends put that much extra strain on the engine or wut? but i didnt think it would start to burn?

check your brakes.. like go near them and see if smell comes from disc, i had like that, my clinder was dragging little and disc heated enough to put metallic smell in my car occasionally after long drives.

Ive got a 94 GT with 5 speed and I also have a burning problem. It's not the clutch, I am all to familiar with that smell! I do have a small oil leak and exhaust smokes slightly on start up sometimes. I had the motor pulled to do alot of build up about 40k ago, and no problems until very recently. I also changed over to cross drilled rotors, high temp painted calipers, and kevlar ceramic pads (Axxis ultimate) about 5k ago so It's not my brakes. Any suggestions would be helpful! As for Ummmx2, is your car lowered if so you may have been rubbing rubber with all the extra weight. Also you should check your belts for sign of wear. Hope this helps!
