how much for your CT20B?
And why did you pay $28 for bushing kits? They're all over ebay and MR2OC for <10. I got mine for $3 (just the cable not the base). This post has been edited by Supersprynt: Feb 2, 2005 - 8:13 AM -------------------- |

The one's for $10 are not solid brass. Even the guy that makes them acknowledges that they are not the same. Looks like a good product though. For $18 why mess around? I bought the speed-source (twosrus) ones too.

Why did you get a 60 trim t3/t4 instead of a 50 or 46? You wont be at full boost until almost 5000 rpms. Should be good for drag though...

Also, you might want to consider a new fuel rail and fpr with those mods.

i got the side feed injectors so i can avoid a new fuel rail... and whats an fpr... fuel pressure regulator... i got a standalone, so i dont think i need that...
and yeah, i got the big turbo for drag and high power output, the car is already a mission to get out the hole... slow spooling is not something iam really afraid of. as for the ct20b, ill sell it for 150 plus shipping, ats said they would rebuilt it for about 375.... i can ship it to them or i can ship it to you , whatever you want... mina This post has been edited by XXX_Mina: Feb 2, 2005 - 2:52 PM |

QUOTE i got the side feed injectors so i can avoid a new fuel rail There are limitations of the stock fuel rail with an upgraded fuel pump - especially when you are using big injectors. You might want to run a search on "fuel rail" on mr2oc.com and look for a long 5 part thread from "Wolfkatz". Interesting reading. -------------------- QUOTE(lagos @ Jul 10, 2006 - 1:55 PM) i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this. |

I'll buy the CT20b off you whenever you take it off. I'll take it first I dont have money to rebuild it quite yet nor do I have better fueling.
What exactly is wrong with it? Is it even operational? This post has been edited by Supersprynt: Feb 2, 2005 - 3:48 PM -------------------- |

Its not iffy on a tuned motor. If you are talking about simply increasing boost to 15psi on a stock 3sgte running off a bigger fuel pump, you will probably be fine. The problem with the stock rail is that different injectors get different amounts of fuel. However, an untuned motor will be very rich anyway so the chance of a problem is probably minimal.
However, if you tune for a 11.5 or 12.0 afr, you need to understand that on the stock rail, some of the injectors will have a significantly higher afr and some will have a lower afr. Running a higher afr in any cylinder risks detonation to THAT cylinder so the aggregate afr reading is not very helpful. If you are tuning your engine, there are two wise choices when running an upgraded fuel pump: 1. tune rich 2. buy an upgraded fuel rail -------------------- QUOTE(lagos @ Jul 10, 2006 - 1:55 PM) i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this. |

So your trying to get 500hp out of the stock block and internals? Or did you already mod those?. Also your running a st205 correct. And how will the celica handle traction with more the 300hp?

i got the water injection to fight detonation.... hopfully the fuel rail on the 3rd gen motor is upgraded from the 2nd gen or something...as for the injectors, iam thinking 250 if you get them with the turbo... plus whatever shipping costs... this way i got money for my springs and shocks....
the turbo is okay, it just leaking oil because of a bad turbo seal...i turned on the car the other day and drove it for a second and it was working fine... just leaks oil. mina This post has been edited by XXX_Mina: Feb 2, 2005 - 5:00 PM |
