depends on if you want to keep the front support.

also, the opening in the stock front bumper isnt too big, limits airflow

its something like 6 inches tall, 3 inches wide, and 26 inches long

idk, it was a while ago when i measured it

but its ont forkee's car right now, and it looks good with the stock bumper and the invader bumper.

it fit perfectly

well, its the TurboXS FMIC kit for my WRX

i think its good to like 500+hp, more than enough for me

and um, if i get in a wreck, my car more than likely will be totaled
im working on making my own tubular steel bumper beam to get some strength/safety back. it will go in behind the intercooler, shouldnt hurt airflow at all.

really, any intercooler will be enough for a 7afte or 5sfte, unless you have a massive budget and plan on making a drag car.

they make much bigger ones, but the price of this kit, as well as its retention of the stock fog lights drew me to it.

i was quite suprized at the fact that even with the stock turbo, at stock boost levels, and with a stock ECU spooling was only about 400rpm slower, and full boost was 500 later than usual

but it did make for about 4psi more at redline than usual. and it took about 2.5 minutes of sitting in traffic to start to heatsoak, stock top mount would heatsoak in 10 seconds.

i was really close to buying a utec when i decided to buy the FMIC first, after one night at the track where waiting in line for as much as 15 minutes would make for a dead first gear.

but now with my utec, i start seeing boost at 2900rpm, with full boost(17psi) at 3500rpm, holding till 4700rpm, tapering to 13psi at redline.

im actually going to tighten my wastegate actuator this weekend to help improve response and help with holding boost.

tuning is more fun than installing parts if you ask me. except for if you blow something up, like my friend did two weeks ago with his car. he has a 71 datsun 240z with a 82 turbo engine, lots of external mods and a SDS ems. the base tuning SDS sent him was horrible. the car was hauling ass, it left my WRX in the dust, but the reason was 32 degrees of timing at peak boost(11psi from a t3/t04e turbo).

needless to say he blew the headgasket in 10 miles of driving the car, #4 cylinder lost half its compression, you could hear the air leaking out, and at #2, #3, and #5 the headgasket was really warped.

st_celica_killer,

go for a bar and plate intercooler.
