I was searching for CAI's for the GT, i figured somewhere theres gotta be a company that makes one.....I found a site that had Injen intakes which i really like, and the price and pics seem to support it being a CAI, not short ram. So does anybody know if this thing is for real, or no??
Go here to check it out wink.gif

I've seen those and I believe when they say cold air intakes instead of the short ram..they are talking about the new celicas..00-02...because I've seen the ingens on new celis and they appear to be real cold air..but the 94-99 are not...we prolly got screwed again... mad.gif

I hate when that happens. You are flipping through the magz then find a part that says celica. Call them up, find out its for the 2000+ models. Damn....cant they be more specific adding on the year than make us feel excited for nothing!!!! mad.gif

Hmmm.....that could be right, but it says "94-99 Celica", not just "Celica". I dunno, maybe i should email them and find out.

EDIT- quoted from page- "94-99 Toyota Celica GT w/ Heat Shield Polished Finish"

thats just the piece of metal that blocks the heat on the short ram. Don't know what you were trying to get at by quoting it?

Alright, im trying to be specific here......
What im saying is that this intake is referred to as a Cold Air Intake(under car) on the link that i provided, not a short ram(under hood). It also says that the intake is for a 94-99 Celica GT, which was what i quoted b4 to show that it specified the make and model, not just "celica", which would most likely be a 7th gen.....im sure its not $217 for a short ram or a heat guard for that matter. SO, my question is, does anybody happen to know if this is really what it claims to be, or does anybody know for a fact Injen doesnt make a CAI for our car???

I have the Injen polished short ram intake w/ polished heat shield for my ST. There is no CAI in existence for the 6gens except Speedtoe's. The correct intake should have two bends in it and it is relatively long for a short ram, but it's still short of being an CAI. Fits about 99% perfect, but it's jammed up against the battery. One more thing, if you pay a dollar over $200 for it (not including tax) you're getting raped. Hope that helped.

I used to do this all the time when I first bought my celli and didn't know exactly where to look to find parts for my car. It just got to the point in which I would just assume that it was for the newer celicas. Damn them new Celicas.

Theres not really a huge difference b/t short ram and cold air. The injen intake is a really good intake for the celica. I had the short ram from the GT on my ST and it was pretty nice. Think i got mine out he door for 140. if ur interested i can get a price for u and find out how much shipping would be. 200 is wayy too much. Its cheaper b/c injen doesnt consider it an intake... they say its an adaptor ( short pipe and filter).

Nah, i would think theres a pretty good difference between the two....one sits under your hood, the other is way more effective and goes under your car, or behind your fender. I wouldnt think that they would sell a short ram for 217-250(approx), which led me to believe that its a Cold Air, im still trying to get a hold of a service rep. to find out though......

icic well on the dyno cold air produces about 2-4 more hp so if that worth 240 bucks to u then go for it.

Well, i figure if i spend 140+ on a ram air i might as well get a CAI and get my moneys worth. Just to let everyone know, i emailed the company last night, so i should get a response soon.....ill edit this post once i find out. wink.gif

EDIT- Ok, to let everybody know, i got a hold of a representative from the website today, and they said that its a short ram only frown.gif I knew it sounded too good to be true.......oh well rolleyes.gif
