Alpine all the way...I got one without an amp- MP3 player...Alpine CD Changer...all working great..Best sound...Bought it online (saved some $$$)...I still have a pioneer premier (about 8 years old)--works..But pioner cd changer broke..I would stick with alpine...U will love it..

Like others have said it depends on your price range and the system you plan on running.
I love my pioneer MP3 unit, especially for 160 dollars, and the sound is so much better than my old Xplod unit. |

Eclipse's have excellent SQ... Sony is complete crap.. mjmsoccer if you are referring to the ones at like.. Wal Mart or whatever... (i think they sell the 6600 and below, not Premier though). those cd players arent all that bad. they will get the job done just fine.. not sure if there was any questions, but just mess around with the cd players mentioned if possible and go from there... features are important so remember that.. aside from the price.

Yeah my Pioneer is a 4600, and my car is no competition sound car but for the price and the features I think its an awesome unit for everyday driving
