I'm not sure what's wrong with my 94GT. At first my mechanic thought it was a bad wheel bearing, but now that he's listened to it, he's not sure. It's a rapid clicking/grating sound coming from the left side that only appears after the car has been driven at high speed for about 10 miles. Before that, it's quiet and normal. After the high speeds, it makes the sound at any speed. Anyone have this happen to them? I'm up to 246,000 miles now.

I checked all that. Took the wheel off and everything. Checked the axle, the CV joint. It's like the sound a stick would make that was caught in the spokes of a bicycle, but there's nothing like that under there.

Check brake pads and calipers. I had a small piece of metal bend outwards and click on the rotor.

This was right after I had my wheel bearings replaced, so I think the shop knocked around the caliper or something.

Sounds like it's damage to the Axle. CV boots are in tact?

Turns out 400 bucks later it was the wheel bearing and hub. This is what you guys have to look forward to when your celica hits 250,000 miles...
