Well this problem has always been there since i bought the car back in stock form.
Alright while holding the gas in like half way in 2nd or 3rd. at around 3k rpm. i just hold the rpms there and the car front of the car will raise and lower. and accelerate and decelerate in a pulsing way. like RRRRR rrrr RRRRRRR rrrr RRRRR rrrrr. lol im gunna say since im using stock ignition, IE coil and wires with larger injectors running more fuel maybe it needs more spark to ignite the gas better? then i was thinking. it also did this in stock form that that wont really explain why. maybe poor contacts on one of the distro pins? or maybe iunno. can anyone give me there input. Its not hindering performance cause once you give it more gas rather than holding it at a certain rpm it takes off and goes away? -------------------- |

Probably not a big help, but back when I was driving my 4th Gen I had a similar problem. I couldn't go past about 50% throttle without having the same symptoms you described. Did plug wires, didn't help. So then I did rotor, dist cap and plugs all at once (maybe I should have done one at a time to find the source of the problem but oh well I was due for a tune up anyways) and all was well. One of my plugs was really corroded so I suspected it to be the culprit.

what does your AFR look like when its doing that? how much vacuum is the engine making at that RPM/TP

the air fuel gets a little richer when it bogs. with no boost running im at 14.0 - 14.5 about but when it goes rrrr instead of RRRR it richens a little to the lowers 13 area.
ill look at my safc setting for 3k at see if maybe its to rich at low throttle. when i had the car dynoed the guys thought the chart looked fine. im still leaning toward an ignition problem though. -------------------- |

"the car will raise and lower"
what do you mean by that... does the rpm start to go up and down, or do you feel the car moving? if the car moves, then i would check the motor mounts to see if the motor isint rocking back and forth. if its the rpms, try to test your ignitor and coil and see if they match up to the bgb specs. how old are your plugs, wires, dist cap, rotor? -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

basicly the car itslef raises and lowers due to the accel and decel. yes i do need to do my motor mounts. i already know they are bad. plugs are new stockers. but i think they are just to small. distro cap is stock and coil and rotor is stock.

yeah if the car itself moves, then its the motor mount. the motor is rocking back and forth as it tries to steady itself. when u give the car gas, it tilts back and settles in place. thats why you only feel it when trying to steady the rpms.
thatas my guess at least. -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned
