3sfe same as 5sfe???????? Options

Ive tried doing some research on putting a turbo on my 3sfe motor. Not having much luck. Will someone please lead in the right direction. Can I use the same turbo componets for a 5sfe for my 3sfe. If I would have know it was going to be such a pain in the butt for me to fix up a rhd celica i dont know if i would have ever gotten it. Its a st 202 model if that makes a difference. Im also trying to convert to a manuel trans. Everything on do it yourselfs on this site is for usdm (5sfe/7afe/4afe). Please help anyway possible. Greatly appreciated

Depends if you got a contruder valve? How many ccs? At what speed does the incubator measure the rpms? These are important ????s that need to be answered before we can proceed.

ooh you bought that jdm st202 that was down in florida right? I know its o/t but how are you getting it legalized? and have you had any problems from the cops?

Yes I am the guy who bought the jdm from FL. What is a contruder valve and how will I be able to find out? Ill be honest I have never heard or seen any of the questions asked.

Im origanally from Spokane myself. How much and what type of manifold will I need, thats what started this post?? P.S. madmod thanks for screwing with the newbie, I htought for a minute you and I were going to go snipe huntin. Please any info is greatly appreciated!!!!!

They are basically the same thing. The heads are nearly identical... the only issues may be with the downpipe length, which would be slightly longer on the 5S. As for the tranny, they can use the same trannies also...

hey i have a 3sfe st 202 - but its a 98 and its left hand drive and gulf spec (arabian gulf)
so any info on this would be useful

so this is what i would do track down a 5sfe turbo manifold try ebay i think they have some for a good price then i'll minus like 200 off my price becuse you dont need the mani so like 1650 shipped and you will need a boost controller like $20-80 on ebay for the screw type like turboxs and you have a full ready to boost kit.
