Well today I lost compression in one of my cylinders I believe. If my engine is under 1800 rpm's and in gear it shudders, but if its above that it runs fine. It just started doing this today. How long can I drive it like this before it blows? I plan on getting a 3sgte swap during spring break which is the 3rd week in march will it last that long?

There are other things that could cause that too. A compression test should explain a lot.

Well, I think it is a ring, because at high rpm's it runs fine, and it happened over night. I let the oil get to low and after put more oil in it runs much better but still noticeable, under acceleration. Baiscally it feels like, being in to high of a gear for the speed I am going.
As long as it lasts me till spring break or so, I will be happy. That is when I am swaping the 3sgte in. |

Im having it installed. And the frame in the st is the same frame as the gt so its not any more difficult, just use the gt motor mounts.

Try some engine restorer, can't hurt. I've noticed less oil consumption. Maybe it will buy a litte time.

I may try that, I'm starting to thing its the fuel filter because the engine runs smooth at idle and with no load on it. But under acceleration it acts like its not getting gas, then it gets gas and takes off.
As for the axles yeah you have to change axles, I beleive there is a site that shows how to do the st swap. Its not difficult, and not much different than the gt swap. |
