im planning my system and wondering if i should buy a volt meter to monitor power going to the amp, do i need this? also, where would i put the volt meter in terms of wiring, so that i would be monitoring power to the amp?

the power going to the amplifier that you would need to be concerned about is going to be ampres, i dont think a voltmeter will be of any use, especially if your just looking at the voltages going to your amp. it would be more practical to measure voltage across the charging system.

i beg to differ, you also want to look at the voltage stability of your electrical system. some amps are picky about voltage and can go into protect easily. It's nice to know what kind of voltage ur getting. I don't really know if you NEED it though.

You really don't need a volt meter soloy on your amp. It the voltage drops you will definetly notice it and it won't be because of your amp. You might want to know when you first hook-up the system how many amps you are drawing and then know if your alternater can replenish that amount.
