drag

with the right suspension

and slicks

a turbo h22 civic hatch will be fast as hell.

QUOTE
oh i didnt realize this poll, but a turbo h22 will run 13's. Theres a guy down my street with a 92 civic hatch with full wide body, and turbo h22 and it runs 12.6 which last i saw is faster then all of those cars.

13's? those guys cant drive or dont have the right suspension setup

i have seen NA JDM h22 hatch civics run 13's at LACR, which is a high elevation track, with the only mods being open header and an intake and prolly a hondata ecu. a CRX with a turbo B16 around here runs mid 11's

turbo h22 hatch would slaughter an NA 350z, a NA rx8, an NSX, stock STI, stock EVO, stock mk4 supra TT, stock 3000gt vr4

i hope your buddy is rebuilding the engine, 11:1 CR and boost make for a lot of detonation.

and that turbonetics kit was crap for my friend's prelude vtec. the MF2 box never worked, car ran so damn lean im suprized he didnt blow the **** out of his engine. and he still hasnt gotten the car to run right

I dont know what he had done when he ran 12.6. i know it was a show car at first so he has a full wide body kit and a lot of custom interior stuff done, so maybe its the extra wieght of all that. Also that might have been without the turbo. I have only talked to him once and thats what he said and i think at the time he didnt have the turbo. Hes friends with my buddie, so im not sure all whats done or when or how or any real spefics.

BIMEANBULLDOGS
Also by the way an h22 civic will not own all those cars. in all racing. It will only own in drag. Its way to much wieght in the front and those cars are built and designed for racing.

yeah the turbos not actually on yet but the H block na pulls in high 12s to low 13s and the turbo kit is supposed to hop the hp up by 200 so it should be fun. u guys think it would take the stock sti huh? idk about that...the stock sti's run 13 sec qt miles and that subaru awd system coupled with sport suspension give it amazing acceleration...

nsx is way overpriced, and becuase of that, overrated.

it would be an awesome car if it was $50-$60k not almost $90k

and people also seem to think that its an amazing 1/4 mile car.

EDIT: I still can't figure out how to quote just parts of poeples messages.

I stand by my original statement, I know about the wieght issues. That's why I said with the right set up. An H22 hachback would be a great AutoX car because of it's length, and if you had the right supension set up it would work. It's a common thing for poeple to think that an H22 is too much wieght up front for it to ever turn, but if you ask some of these guys who really do this swap, they don't loose that much. Anything they do loose can be gained back with the right suspension set up. There's always moving radiators/batteries/brake pumps/just about every except the block to the truck. This would help even it out. The only think I think the Civic maybe couldn't compete would be dirt/snow rally for it's lack of AWD.

Ok, so this is why i give the civic the thumbsdown.gif - Even if the car was done up to the max, and it handels really well, and all that... Its already met its potential, whereas the rest of the list can just as easily be modded up and in turn smack the civic around... Dont get me wrong im not hating on the civic or more importantly the H22, but come on now, a civic chassis has less potential then most of the other cars on the list, plain and simple...

I see your point, but if your going to go that far it's just a matter of which has the best base. And each car is good for different things. I think the Supra for is proven drag and AutoX possibilities, and the STI for it's AutoX and and Rally possibilities would be the best choices. But an H22 civic will allways give you a good run for your money on the street, so that's why I like it.

this all depends on the type of race and the driver's skills. Hey, even if the drivers are all profesionals, the results can still be argued. Some drivers drive better in a civic then a NSX or a supra. Some drivers are better at driving FR then AWD. <--Refering to curcuit driving.

good point gh0st but lets say YOUR in an nsx type S and u roll up on a little brite green civic that sounds kinda good...so u give it a rev to say "dont **** with me" and he has the balls to rev back, and the little civ sounds like a 4 cyl on PCP, would u race him or say "ahhhh, he knows not race MY bad ass NSX?  Cuz i know if i was on the NSX power trip i would race him, i just dont know how it would turn out.

what i'm sayin is anything is possible, even turning a civic into a CIVIC w/ BALLS

i hate fast and furious its one of the ****tiest movies of alll time! what im tryin to figure out is if the h22 civ is all its cracked up to be...because i know its fast and i know its a major mod to make a civic an actual racer. But is it capable of competing with these cars on the street....

That H22A is a very very strong engine with a lot of potential. Don't under estimate any kind of power in any form, you never know what can happen. Either way I voted STI.
