A good friend of mine just got a 89 supra turbo mt for free of an old guy who just gave it to him for reasons unknown, mint condition by the way, well anyways a week or so later he told me he got a 97 supra 2JZ-GTE and is going to swap it into the 89 supra, he also said he has the 97's tranny and all. Now what im asking is, is it possible? or is he just wasteing his time, and not to mention money?

If the 89 is ment, he should just keep that as is and sell the 97 engine/tranny and put the money into the 89. If not that, then another 89 or other year with a blown engine and put it in. It will work. I guess if he wanted to take the out the 89 engine and sell it, that'd be alright. Just kinda seems like a waste of a good car to me. This is all just my opinion, and shouldn't stand in the way of any ones hopes and dreams.
