other - Eclipse. i have pioneer, and my brother has eclipse. his hu blows mine away with SQ. i couldnt believe how much better his entire system sounded after going from a pioneer deck to eclipse. i still like my pioneer for the money, but his is amazing.

How're pioneers winning? This pool? Thats just weird. Honestly, there are different brands for different uses, different price areas. If you are cheap, a kenwood, pioneer or sony would serve you well. But it's foolhardy to spend the same amount of money on a sony or pioneer that you would to get an alpine.

if youre really looking for the BEST hu, then the only thing you could choose off that list is alpine... they make a really good hu for the price. if you have the money, then look at eclipse or nakamichi. if you go with a nak tho, make sure you buy from a dealer and get a warranty. they also recently went out of business and were bought up, so look at the current models or older (if they even continue to make car hu's)

well since, nakamichi and eclipse are the same company i don't see how it could have gotten bought up. there both fujitisu ten companies. either way if not the alpine i have to agree eclipse has it down. i'm also stumped why some guys picked pioneer.

I Love the kenwood i have, and the last to kenwoods too. I have had everything bestbuy has sold. ( I use to work there with discount. )
I have had pioneer: To slow with reading cd's with mp3's and amp was weak.
Sony: SUCK.. they die .. and there junk
JVC: there ok, i never liked them, there specs are weak and they dont last

I guess thats all i have had, i liked the last two kenwoods so stuck with them.

Alpine are nice my brother had a very old one, that lasted forever till the watter spille don it killed it.

what happend to Clarion? their Pro Audio is exceptional like the DXZ945MP.. Alpine and Eclipse and Clarion would be my choices... id be stuck between Alpine and Eclipse... Nakamichi is . Pioneer Premier would be my last between them 4.. also you want too look at the specs of a cd player mostly... 4v pre outputs... how many pairs, 24 DAC.. etc...

Nakamichi and Eclipse are not the same company. Eclipse is made by fujitsu-ten; but Nakamichi was a seperate company, who recently went bankrupt, and it is now owned by the Grande Group of japan.

well i got a 6 disk indash Nakamichi sitting under my desk and it says fujitsu-ten all over it.

maybe fujitsu bought a peice of their equipment that they didnt want to make themselves to put in a car? i dunno... all of the speakers made for our cars were fujitsu-ten, im not sure about the hu tho, mine didnt come with the stock one. nak makes some parts for computers, then sells them to other companies that put it all together... you know how that goes, all the companies do that to save money. heres a thread and an article about the current situation with nak.

the Clarion DX945MP has been stated on of the best cd players out..while many others have also this is the only one i was interested in at the time because i was thinking of purchasing one, so i do not remember the list i had read. Alpine, Eclipse and Premier's were on their ofcourse but i am not sure which models. Nakamichi has gone down hill i think. Eclipse is a great choice. and ofcourse their is Alpine. if i really had to choose id have to choose between Eclipse and Alpine... while the others are great brands also. id probably go with an Eclipse deck for a change from my Alpine.

4. Pioneer Premier

these four i would choose from, not in any order but the Premier would be my last choice because i have played with them all. they are great cd players but i like Eclipse and Alpine better. you would be happy with either 4 choices. also Kenwood Excelons are OK i think, while they are respectable im just not into Kenwood products. and yes please steer clear of Sony. JVC has some great CD players the Arsenals and the one that has that little screen on the right are good cd players. i hope i have helped you. if not then i am sorry, but these are my choices. LaTeR

I had an Alpine in my car and it just got stollen last month and I am thinking about what to get. I am probably going to go and get another alpine since they just came out with a system to connect and control and Apple iPod.

I will say that eclipse is also up there. I just don't like the look as much.

I have a jvc ar-600 that does the job rather well. I can't attest to its clarity because i am a total noob but it does what it says it should and looks d*mn fine doing it.
