Hey everyone, I want to wake up my 2.2 GT.
Just so you know: I don't know if my mechanic has the mental capacity to do a red top swap, nor do I have the the know-how to read this forum and buy all the right parts. Until I find the right person, what can I do to liven up this car so I can get on the freeway / up to passing speeds better. It just seems, I dunno... flat. My aunt bought this car in 1995 and it was fast as a rocket it felt like. Maybe it was because it was the first sports car I ever drove. But it would be nice to get this puppy alive again. |

unfortunately if you're planning on doing a swap. I'd advise to not touch it besides basic bolt ons to make it SOUND better. Performance....maybe a couple hair of whp. That's about it. The FE head takes money and time to put some power out of it. BUT what it sounds like to me is that you want the same power I want. Which is nothing crazy but just a simple mild build. I have I/H/E atm and is going to get some cam work. That should get me up to 125-140whpish depending on which cam setup I'm going with. Then later down in the road I'll probably do some head/intake port match and upgrade my injectors. That should push it up to 140-160whpish.
