Cops sucks. I hate cops. I seriously hate them. I wish that I could cuss on here because it makes me so mad to hear about how the bull crap things happen to poeple. I'm not some ghetto thug either. I'm an upstanding citizen and I've only been in trouble with the law over speeding tickets. I just hate cops and their attitude. Screw cops, I hope they all get testicualer cancer.

QUOTE That is not really true you can get a ticket with out a radar gun. In this case the cop has to pace your speed a distance behind you but the catch is, he has to do this within a two mile zone. If you are speeding and he has paced your speed for the two miles you can get a ticket . But if he has not paced you for the 2 miles he has nothing to stand on. How do I know this you ask....I have been pulled over 3 times for speeding and every time i have taken the cop to court and won. Around here we have arrogant cops that will pull you over just because you are a kid and have a fixed up car. I hve been pulled over for tint. for my body kit(soposidly it's illegal to have a body kit on your car around here), and for having my high school tassle hanging from my rear view mirror. Anyhow back to the topic...I would most definitly take this to the judge...the cop has nothing to stand on also....one question did the cop turn on his lights when he pulled you overor came up to you in the parking lot? If not make it clear to the judge that he didn't show any sign of pulling you over untill he walked up to you and asked for your liscence. okay...sorry about the spelling it's 2 am so give me some credit... Later -Christina I hope you are good in court. I know of way to many girls who get off easy for it being "that time of the month" -------------------- |

that normally has nothing to do with it. it's just the fact the cops are a*ses and like picking on kids with nice cars. they have nothing to stand behind them when they pull u over and then they don't expect most kids to take them to court they figure most of us just pay the ticket and go. so when someone does stand up against the cop he's screwed

Funny that this topic came up. I just got A speeding ticket about a week ago. This is my first ticket so i was scared and I didnt say anything to the cop. I was going no more than 40 in a 30. It was on a main road right by my house. The cop was comming down in the opposite lane. I see him and I immediately slow down. I dont think anything of it and I slow down. Normally I go 50 down this street and cops pass by and dont care. The cop stops me and asks me for my licence, rights me a ticket for going 51 in a 30, and tells me to go. I come to my senses a second after he gives me the ticket and go looking for the cop. I live in a small suburb right next to chicago so i had a good idea where the cop was going to hide next. I tell him that i wasnt goign over 40, he says it does not matter and that i was still speeding. I ask him for a radar reading and he says that he deleted it. I think it was imposible for him to have had the radar on becuase the look on his face when i asked him, and becuase he was moving in the opposite direction and he acnowledged that i was going under what he wrote on the ticket. After 2 minutes of arguing he told me to plead not guilty, and that he would let me go with a small fine and supervision because it was my first time. Can i fight this, what can i do?
Thanks |

don't tell the judge what the cop siad he found out that you wheren't going to let it go and now he's trying to cover his but. he wants you to tell him that, but you need to tell him that the cop had no reading and just gave you a ticket for going a speed that you wern't going and then he told u to plead not guilty and the cop would only give u a small fine.....screw that, tell the judge the truth (what u just told us). The cop is only trying to save himself from his own screw up......I would most definitly take it to court.

you can get clocked going in the opposite direction and sometimes if you go to court and lose its worse than if you woulda just plead guilty in the first place. only fight if you absolutely know you are right

It will RARELY turn out to be worse, almost IMPOSSIBLE in fact, usually the prosecuter will offer you a plea bargain before your case gets heard, just to get it out of the way. Jay would know more tho. |

always always always fight the ticket!
For the record on this radar thing, the law is different in every state. While I lived in Maryland, I actually went to court and told the judge he did not show me the radar gun when asked. The JUDGE told me that I would be free to go if I lived in Wisconsin or some other states that I can't remember. So go to the libarary and check out the law for your state. Always fight the ticket, plead innocent. Sure it's scary at first, but kinda fun after you do it a couple times. Go to the library and ask for their books on fighting traffic tickets. They should have several. Cop pulled me and my brother over in a rented Minivan on our way to our grandmother's funeral a week ago. Since we were out of state, he made us either pay him the cash on the side of the road (85$) or he would take our license (which we need to get back on the plane). Now THAT is messed up. (lol, my brother was driving though) -------------------- |
