I got the car running last week, I just am waiting on some custom axles to actually drive the thing, along with rear brake parts for the 5 lug/rear disk conversion.

Any comments?

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

This is very neat, i like reading through DETAILED descriptions like you've shown us. It makes you very trust-worthy. Thanks for showing us the swap, give us an update when it's done so we can come check the rest of it out

Great that there is another engine available to us. But I would think a 2zz would be blown away by a newer 4a or 3s.

whats the relative difficulty of this swap? it seems like a lot of MR-S guys have done the 1zz to 2zz swap. I would think putting a 2zz in place of a 5s or 7a would be harder ..

nice job btw smile.gif

Fellow swapper,, MUCH PROPS!!!! I LOVE IT!!! I have not crossed an Enginedemon like yourself in a long time. I miss the NE. Thank you for rekindling my passion for tuning. I have one question. Prior to installing the motor into the Rolla, did you lift the engine to the sky with thy own hands, and ask the motor gods to bless the beast?

eh can't you buy a full turbo kit and lots of aftermarket performance parts for those!!! that would be a great engine for the availablity of parts but man there are a ton of those motors

Thanks for the great comments everyone smile.gif

There are some recent updates in the thread if you want to check it out. The car should be totally finished by early next week!

In fact, by the end of today you should see some pics of the rear disk conversion... using 6th Gen Celica parts!!!

Chrobis, I agree that I personally would rather have a 3SGTE... but in place of the 7A for the ST it would be a cool swap.

gh0st d0g, It was a very difficult swap requiring custom axles and mounts, and lots of other little things. The MR-S swap is easier.

celica3sgte: Yes. biggrin.gif

I would be VERY interested in doing one of these swap into a Celica, so if any of you are serious let me know. I'd do it for $1000 labor.
