Alright the codes that pulled are:

P0105 Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Malfunction
P0106 Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Range/Performance Problem

I'm getting around 12-15mpg and shes sluggish as hell.
Idle VAC is 18-19

I've recently got a new MAP sensor (which was confirmed in working condition), but the CEL was still triggered. The shop says that if it is a good sensor, then it has to be the wiring harness or ECU.

Also, I recently got a replacement header, which had its secondary O2 sensor bung stripped out. So I spliced the primary and secondardy lines and plugged the hole, which I've heard is a common fix when getting a performance header that only has the primary bung. This did not pull any O2 codes, but I wasn't sure if this was dampering my mpg/performance.

Has anyone spliced their O2 wires successfully?
Any help would be hot...thanks.

why did u buy a new map sensor? u still have the old one?

maby try swaping it back in to see whats up.

from what i know about the o2 sensor, is that only one of them is and o2 and the other one is sometimes a temp sensor. so giving the ecu the same signal would not be a good thing. take the header off and ask a local exhaust shop to put a bung on the for you for the other sensor. it should be really cheap to do.

Well I didn't buy a new map sensor. I got a used one from someone who did a 3s swap. They said there was no CEL when they used it. So I figured for $30, might as well just get a working sensor to know that its definitely not it. Switching it back wouldn't do much since it had these problems before I got the replacement.

I wouldn't have a problem pulling the header again and having the bung welded on, since I've done it so many times.

I thought a CEL code would have been thrown if this was conflicting with something?

The splicing seems to be a straightforward process by BoostedPenguin on the MR2 board. Has anyone tried this on our 6gcs?

That could be...but wouldn't it trigger an O2 CEL?

Thanks for your much respected input Lagos.

Tested the MAP Sensor connection. Voltage reading between two outter lines (E2 & VC) is 5 volts. Perfectly within the range of 4.5-5.5 that BGB states.

If it IS a wiring issue, I imagine it must be the middle wire, so am going to check its connections to the ECU.

I have 3 different map sensors, and the CEL still comes on with all of them. So I doubt its a sensor problem.
