*sigh* so i got my second speeding ticket within 4 months... i havent even done the traffic school for the first one yet.... anyways, my first ticket i was doing 84 in a 55 so i took it up the ass with the $350 fine... this time i was doing 83 in a 65 so my guess is probably $150 for the fine, plus this ones going on my record. *sigh* I'm never speeding again. I'm gonna drive like a grandma from now on.... i learned my lesson.

I saw +14 is the "safest" speed on interstates, and +5 on regular roads...

gotta keep an eye out for those white lines and those emergency pull-over signs

my friend says the same thing every time he gets a ticket, and its yet to stop him... he's gotten 5 in the past 12 months already, and he already lost his licence for a month... And the sad thing is every time i ride with him, he STILL does stupid stuff, like pass cars at 80 when they are going 65...

just make sure theres always someone going faster then you. i play follow the leader, I make sure im always folowing someone, and wait for them to set the speed.

I almost got pulled once a lil while ago.. I didnt pay attention and there was cop doing laser, and then i saw him get to his car as i was coming up, and then a van passed me, so lucky me i didnt get pulled. but that was one time i didnt play follow the leader

My points just came off a month ago

I play cop-finder as well biggrin.gif but sometimes I am ashamed to say that I am the cop finder instead of the user. Oh well, good thing is I've never been caught speeding, trick is to watch the road ahead, althoug at night its kinda hard but still...watch for the typical cop hiding spots.

My entire life is a rush.

85 is cruise speed over here. I routinely did 120mph to work every day when I lived in Germany.

Forget 'obeying the speed limit'. Drive safely at a speed you consider appropriate to the conditions and traffic, and drive smart. Cops are usually easy to spot if you're awake.

I dont know about where you live but i know in CA there something called level two traffic school for ppl that have had a second tic in side of the 18 month period.

All it is is 12 hours instead of the std 8 hours of traffic school. Many times the 3rd 4 hour course is the same as the first one.

Im never speeding again either...

A couple of weeks ago I was pulled over for "wreckless driving" from doing....102 in a 60. When I rolled my window down the cop yells at me to get out of the car....SO I open my door to find myself getting yanked out of the car & pushed to the back of the car while he slaps hand cuffs on me & makes me get in the back of his cop car. rolleyes.gif While doing this he tells me Im under arrest for wreckless driving & that my car is being towed & I will have to be bailed out if I want to go home that night.....WHOA!! Anyway after he saw that Im a nice girl & have a CLEAN driving record he tells me "im going to do you a favor...Im not going to arrest you...to be honest you wouldnt fit in there!....& Im not going to have your car towed either. I think you were upset & just not thinking about how fast you were going, so all you will need to do is show up to court on this date to plead guilty or not guilty."

Anyway since then I've plead not guilty so now I am waiting for Tuesday the 8th to roll around to see what they do to me Lol.......The cop was a complete ass until he saw my clean record, then he was as nice as could be....THE FUNNY THING was when he searched my car....all I could think about was what he would think of the naked chick on my gauges HAHAHA (it was at night so Im sure she stood out)

So anyway NO more speeding for me! I always speed my ass off so I really had it coming to me lol RIGHT Coomer & Natalie? (and aaron tongue.gif) haha

when i do get pulled over, i always say--no more speeding..that lasts for about 2 days..
its not speeders that should be pulled over, rather
those that talk on the cell phone, those that drive 50mph in the left lane, tailgaters, and out of control suv's..
speed is not what causes accidents--its drivers who are distracted and not paying attention that are the culprits...

I went on the interstate yesterday and I swear people are going faster and faster. Half the cars on it were doing 90-97 and some were picup trucks with trailers and everything. On the regular street in Mobile if you're going the speedlimit, you will be tailgated, beeped at and yelled at. Its common place for people to go 10 to 15 over here. The cops will still pass you like you're standing still, then they pull into the krispy kreme up the road.

Every time I get a ticket it just makes me want to go faster. You have to get back on the horse man, it's the only way. I think they should have different speeding laws for different cars. Like my grandpa's 79 F-100, that thing does not need to go over 45-50mph. But my car can stop/turn and avoid an acident at around 85 safely. I have good tires, ungraded brakes, and the sports supension package though, so I don't think this is a good number for all Celicas.
