To build a good car audio system, first you want to make a budget, this is the main point of the planning. If you dont have money for components of preference class, you cant buy anything.

The second part of the planning is to draw all the things what you want to give in the car. One member of DLS Sweden team, who won the SQ of EMMA in Budapest, draw all the components in AutoCAD. It takes him over 500 hours. But it look great. Its simply and have the best sound quvality.

Lot of people thinks that car audio is olny give 8 subwoofers in the car, and its over. If you want to build good system, you must have knowledge about acoustic and have lot of practical skills.

The most important rule in building good autohofi system is that: YOU WILL HEAR THE MUSIC, NOT WATCHING. This means, the desing of the system is important, but the funcional side of the project.

If you want to build a good audiosystem, you must use good components of the same class. It absurde to buy Sony headunit for 200 USD and JBL A6000Gti amplifter for 6000 USD. Its nosens. It is only one of the extrems, and its only an example. But if you are buying components you must have everything in one class.

I prefer brands, whitch makes only car audio. I dont want to say that Sony or Kenwood dont have good woofer, but if you look an the catalog of Alpine, Clarion or Audison and Focal - you will see , and hear the difference. But its not a rule. Pioneer is one of the best brand in the car audio segment. their new woofer with max. 5000W is great. and their new headunits Mp-90 are good too, or the Avic-X1 won lot of awards all over the world.

My dream audiosystem:
headunit: Clarion or Alpine
amplifters: Audison (or Ground Zero)
speakers: there are lot of producers, whitch makes great speakers (Focal, DLS, Dynaudio), but I prefer "technical" music and for them are perfect speakers of German producer Ground Zero - Plutonium or Nuclear series.
Subwoofer: there is no question: GZPW 15 XQ. This subwoofer is KILLER!!! It has the best technical data. I think 15", 4500W, Xmax:3" !!! this has great SPL. And If you have 2 or 4 of this kind of woofers in your car, you will win all the SLP drag competitions. And it is cheap!!! In Slovakia you can buy this for 49990 SKK (1800USD). I think it is great price. If you know about better, please write about it. Tanks.
There are many and many other components of the system but Im too tired to write here 2 pages of components. These are the main.

If you want something or want help with chooseing of components, write me. I will help you with anything, If I can.

i think you should do some spell checkin d00d.. and be more in depth.. not just your personal opinions...

1. clasify what type of sound you want
2. see what your budget is
3. cheaper isnt better, do a ton of research on what you are looking to buy.. build quality is key in car audio.. just because the amp says "2000watts!!!!" doesnt mean its true... or if your subwoofer says "4000watts!!!" doesnt mean its true either... in car audioy you look at the RMS of the subwoofer and amp.
4. if you want to build a box for your subwoofer(s), do not j

4. if you want to build a box for your subwoofer(s), do not just buy some f#cking plywood or particle board... buy 3/4 MDF.. and if you dont know why, then dont bother building a box...and if you dont know how to build your own box.. then buy a Q-Logic box or something..
5. dont think you can just have all these amps and $hit running off your stock altenator and battery...if you suffer from lights dimming and such adding a cap. will not help... if you are running over 1200rms, its best to get a high output altenator.. and a nice battery(like an Optima yellow top for example). the Only way to fix light dimming and such is replacing the altenator.. and after you may still have light dimming, but atleast you wont have to worry about your alt. frying and catching on fire down the highway!.
6. save your money and buy products that are Atleast decent. so you dont have to replace the crap the next month.. car audio isnt cheap... and if you spend $5,000 at a car audio shop.. dont brag.. i can probably get the same $hit online for cheaper, or something better for cheaper... $5,000 isnt that much for car audio anyway(sorry just cant stand people bragging).

anyway this is just a small dent in the car audio Lifestyle.. there is so much to learn and once you get into it, going to comps. and such it is very exciting and a blast.

Now to bust some balls

Scarrell: Caps will help with dimming head lights, I have a cap and before they dimed and then i put a cap in, they stoped. I pulled the cap out, replaced my batt with a yellow top, and they will still on ocation dim. Im saying this with personal experiance and use. I know you would love to argumore, but its not worht it. In sence we are both right, but dont just go out and make false statments.

Two... Kenwood headunits are nice, dont diss somthign you might have not owned or experianced with, Yes there will always be somthing better. I have owned 4 headunits and have installed 10 dif brands and have listened to them all. Also( this is from 2 years ago when i was looking for head units.) Kenwood made the best headunit provin by use and specs and sound for under $400. As of now I have just learned from shopping around they have went down hill. rolleyes.gif

Just because some brand only deals with audio does not mean there any better at it then the next guy. Yes Sony suck. Yes there are better brands out there then pioneer and kenwood and alpine. But seeing as how we all drive celicas, and very inexpensive car, I dont think any one here is going to spend thousands and thousands upon thousands on there car audio.

If you look at his info, it says he is from Slovakia, and is Hungarian. Picking on his spelling is uncalled for, he did quite well, assuming English is not is native language.
