Well I finally took the turbo off, for many different reasons. One is that I feel my engine is about done. I still have my Vortec Fuel Presure Reg, and 255lph Fuel pump installed. So I don't know if the engine has taken a dump, or I need to change some things to get the NA setup to function properly. So here goes:

Idle: ~1000rpms ~-18 VAC

If I tap on the accel, rpms will drop to 300-400. Then back up to 1k.

If I accel bringing the VAC between -5 to 0 (Full throttle), I have NO POWER.

I can get most power when the VAC is between -10 to -5.

While crusing, if I barely hold down the accel (giving it little gas) it will shake pretty hard.

She smokes a little bit, and there is a slight burning smell.

fixed-Oh yeah, and on the way back from the exhaust shop this morning (to get my new header to match up with my exhaust) I had about ~1/2 oz Oil in Catch Can after 10mi-fixed

So theres a list of things off the top of my head. The engine is still under warranty, so was planning to bring it in for a swap or fix...but wasn't sure if it might be something else.

Well I unplugged my HKS S-AFR, so it shouldn't be computing an inaccurate air/fuel mix. Would the Walbro Pump and FPR cause an increase, even though I installed stock injectors?

I thought I've heard of some NAs upgrading their pump to the Walbro...not sure about the FPR though confused.gif

Guess I can plug the AFR back in and lean it out a little bit.

Wow.. wow..

Yes, a lot of overfueling. Why on earth did you unplug the air fuel ratio controller? It could care less if you're using a turbo or not, it just adds fuel based on how much air you're getting- or SUBTRACTS fuel when you're getting too much- the stock ECU doesn't count on your pump and FPR.

Not really.

The HKS S-AFR can only be manually adjusted. It doesn't add or subtract fuel by itself, but you could program it to do so. Dyno tuning it would make it work best. Which is a $300+ job (according to the local performance shops).

Update:
I unplugged my Crankcase vent from my catch can setup and reinstalled the breather. The intake was apparently sucking it out, because nothing sprays out into the breather. So 20mi with this change, and the catch can is clean.

This is apparently a good solution for NA, but when the turbo was installed my PCV system worked great, and gained only tiny amounts of vapor in the can.

My exhaust sounds like Harley, and is a lot different from when the turbo was on.
