Hey Im looking for a portable mp3 player for when i run. I would like it to be small and not too expensive. I also need a usb flash drive for school projects. Soo.. I was looking at the new ipod usb flash drive mp3 player, it looks really cool and its very small.

My questions is, has any one used it? whats your thoughts towards it, or what else should i look for? thanks for any input.

personalyl I use an older mpio that has a sd slot so instead of having 128 I have 128+ a 512 mb card. Its cheaper and if I want to use the sd card to transfer stuff to school I still have that option. Yes the big ipods can hold other data but if you like to run or such screw the ipod cause it uses an hd which can get damaged.

the drives used in the Ipod mini and other microdrive MP3 players are shock resistant, only the big 10Gig+ ones use a full HD that is not shock resistant. reguardless this thread seems to be based more around flash drives then micro or HD drives so to stay on topic, whats nice about the Ipod Shuffle is it has a 1.5 gig capacity that is insane for something no bigger then your standard jump-drive, the only problem with the shuffle is it doesnt have an LCD display, and im not 100% sure one way or the other if you can sync it to multiple computers to draw data off of it, which i know is a problem with other ipod units (intended to prevent music piracy), personally im a big fan of the creative products, my favorites being the muvo slim (which is a flashmedia unit but still requires a USB connection cable to sync), the Muvo TX FM (which is a USB flashdrive style player, can be purchased in up to 1gig capacity, and also has onboard FM tuner and both FM and voice recording capability), and also the Zen Micro which is a microdrive 5GIG unit.

It depends what all are in the files. most are only like 10 megs somtimes 20 megs.. not to much more, but its nice to be able to move all your work in somthing so small.

I just got the creative and am in love with it, Its AWSOME!...
