a check valve is a valve that lets air pass one way but not the other. it has nothing to do with a turbo or none turbo car.

There are many different sizes and shapes of check valves. Basically they just restrict air flow one way, and allow it to freely pass the other.

They can be used in many different situations

they bleed off pressure between your manifold and map sensor so the map doesn't see your boosting thats what they do

on a NA setup they're used between the crankcase vent -> intake VAC line so that the crankcase isn't pressurized.

Know you talkin bout turbo setups....but thats just something else they're used for.

as i explained further up

"they bleed off pressure between your manifold and map sensor so the map doesn't see your boosting thats what they do" NIK

go look under your hood see the map sensor and the vac tubing coming out of the bottom and going to the intake manifold ..... now see the pic i posted you pull off your tubing and connect the check valve system and your done dude you should know n/a map sensors dont like boost so this is how you fool them or you can hardwire in a 1 or 2 bar map sensor but you have to make sure the ecu can under stand it go out a buy ..... i can remeber the of that boosting book anyways go read up it will probably answer some of your questions you keep asking
