a check valve is a valve that lets air pass one way but not the other. it has nothing to do with a turbo or none turbo car.

There are many different sizes and shapes of check valves. Basically they just restrict air flow one way, and allow it to freely pass the other.
They can be used in many different situations -------------------- |

on a NA setup they're used between the crankcase vent -> intake VAC line so that the crankcase isn't pressurized.
Know you talkin bout turbo setups....but thats just something else they're used for. -------------------- |
