I think I "OOPS!"d my Dad's car. He's got a 96 Mazda 626 LX witht he V6 and it's got way more balls than my car plus it's a stick, so I drove it. I needed to get going fast because I needed to get ahead of the traffic...I was making a left and there was a tiny gap to get in otherwsie I'd have to wait for like 10 minutes which sucks. So I started goin pretty good and I roasted the tires nice and rubbery smelling...not on purpose honestly it wasn't...no sarccasm I didn't mean to...and then I was tyring to control the torque steer and couldn't shift...so right as it was redlining I shifted...I got to the food place and got osme food...went out to start the car and now it's all makign this weird noise and it gets worse as I accellerate. I know I have to pay for it now, but I'd like to know what you guys hthink it might be...snapped rod? Camshaft f---ed? Thanks for any input.

The rev-limiter should have prevented any valve train damage(cams, valves, rocker arms...), and a rod/piston/crankshaft problem would be extremely evident(also shouldn't happen due to the rev-limiter). Also, rod/crankshaft problems would render the car undriveable.

Could be a CV axle/shaft or maybe a transmission problem(clutch, gears...). Most likely something with the tranny. Get it checked out ASAP.
