Find an old Alltrac or smuggle one in from Mexico.

If you live in the US, you can't have one.

If you have a lot of money, and a lot of guts, and dont mind breaking the law, you could probably figure something out. However, it isn't legal.

Your best bet:
1. Go live in another country.
2. Do an engine and looks conversion (lots of $$$ needed, and you don't get the 4wd, and its still, deep down, and american celica.)
3. Spend lots of money importing one to mexico, drive down there with yours, switch vin numbers, and hope no one catches you. Then deal with heck for registration and smog checks.

It's possible to get one here legally since there are smog legal 3SGTE's in this country (that means emissions equipment is availible), in NC it's about $7,000 for shipping from Australia and legalization which you must buy all new parts and provide receipts, people are legalizing cars like crazy around the NC/SC border because SC is getting emissions testing.

I'll throw the bs flag on that one... Even though the 3sgte is legal here... for them to accept a car they have to test it *THIS MEANS CRASH TESTING* for everything they test to see if anything has changed.... It's not near as easy/cheap as you say. Unless you can afford everything... ur sol

Suspension prices are scary, and you have to remember that it *is* a £30K ($60K) car, so you will get bills to match.

If you're expecting it to turn in like an MR2 stock, you're going to be upset.

It's still the fastest way down a bit of twisty road this side of a STi/GTR/Evo money can buy however. And it's rare. And nobody knows what it is.

These are the reasons I bought it.

Amen to that. I've only ever seen 3 other GT4s on the roads over here - every other cars seems to be either an EVO or STi. A well set up GT4 will kill virtually any car on the twisty stuff.
I've never been one to follow the crowd, hence the GT4 and a Rover 220 GTi as a rally car. Nice to be different wink.gif

No way. GT4 is a true 4WD car - power is split 50/50. R34 is 4WD, but most power is supplied to the rear wheels. GT4 would eat an R34 on a tight twisty road assuming they had the same sort of power outputs.

A race circuit is a completely different kettle of fish, but on those back roads, the GT4 is up amongst the best.

Came up against an R34 at the drags last weekend. Shocking conditions on the start line - very damp and lots of rubber meant severe loss of traction. R34 was consistently a second slower over the 400m sprint.
