the "blue" you may be seeing could be from a xenon bulb or most likely a HID unit. blue lights can be percieved to be illegal (depends on the officer) but anything with blue or red lights on the front of the car can be written up as "impersonating a law enforcement officer"

yes.

blue (to my knowledge) is illegal everywhere, no matter where it is on the car.

in TN, red and green are illegal on the front and blue anywhere.

Your best bet is going to talk to your police department in your city. Different states have different laws, but I know that in many states, if not all of them, blue is illegal. I've gotten a $171 ticket for having blue lights inside my car.

Also, here in Washington, it's legal to have white(completely white, with no blue/purple tint whatsoever) or amber turn signals in front, and amber or red in the rear. I've been pulled over for hyperwhite turn signals though.

Im pretty sure in the states blue lights are reserved for law enforcement vehicles, I've heard of people getting tickets for "impersonating a law enforcement vehicle" because they had blue signals. Im sure it ultimately comes down to the DOT approval and then local laws.

ya, amber is the only one that is legal upfront. but.....you can get away w/ white very easily because most/all around here wont pull you over for whtie turn signals. Only thing is during the day you really can't see white turn signals in clear bumpers easily.
