the cheapest one... which is usually 85-87, depending on where you go.

Like Natallie, i cant justify putting anything else in since there is no need to. Plus im cheap!

I pay about 2.09 per gal for 89 which is what i usually use. They have 103 where im at but i dont need that high. We have lotsa rally/drag in my area but ppl hate rice here. Gas drops down to 1.79 here on occasion. I got 1.59 around christmas time.

I read in a consumer report experiment that you're supposed to put in what your car's manual says to put in. They said if your car is meant for 87 and you put in 93 or whatever else, it doesn't do anything and might hurt the engine because it wasnt designed to handle the higher octane. I don't know whether that's true or not, but I put in 87 cause its the cheapest.

Yes its pretty much true if your car is still standard. certain mods change things a bit, more pertinant to turbo cars then N/A. JDM cars are sposed to run on 101ron, never had that high an octane rating yet, couldnt afford the combination of the UKs excesively high petrol costs (£60 to fill the tank, thats about $90 - $100 in your money) and octane booster (£10 a can)

92, I think it runs better, but its probilby in my head. it really does not make much diff the price change is hardly more then a few bucks in the end anyway, but since I drive an hour to work and back every day, 5 days a week (or more) I figure I owe it to her.

I've never used anything but 93 in any of my cars. Prices are getting a little high for your average college student. As for Europeans complaining about your gas prices compared to ours, shut it, you have better cars and you always will. Our low gas prices is all we have. Leave us alone with our complaining about them rising.
