Yesterday morning and early afternoon I was in my car listening to my stereo like any other normal day. Then when I got into my car later that night, the receiver wouldn't show anything on the display, nor would it play any music!
Its one of the receivers that are motorized, and when the car is off it folds up. Well when I started the car, it flipped into its position...but nothing appeared. When I had time, I took out the receiver, checked the wiring harness, checked the 10A fuse, unplugged everything and replugged it all back in...None of it helped the situation. What I did notice, however, is that occasionally, the motor would stick a little bit when folding up or down. Sometimes it would catch and then not move at all. Before it would stick, the display would be lit up. Sometimes, it would even have the tuner on...but it would be on a station that doesn't get reception so all I'd get was feedback. I removed the face-plate, and cleaned the brass ends really well with rubbing alochol...that didn't work either. Is there anything else I can try? or am I screwed? -------------------- |
