cd deck questions Options

hey all,

been lookin at getting a new mp3 deck and was goin to go with the sony 7810 because it had high 120db signal to noise, bbe processing and red button illumination as i am converting all my interior lights to red.....i went to best buy today and couldnt find anywhere on the player, an adjustment for the sub.

i know it has 3 pre amps including a sub out....but where is the sub out level control? there is one right??

one of the reasons i want the player is for extra sub output control

i had an old pioneer 4 to 5 years ago that did this and had a 50,70 hz bass boost too....i dont understand how sony wouldnt.....but i didnt see it
before i go buying a deck.....i would like to know what manufacturers offer in sub out controls

i would like to get red illumination or at least blue(some of my gages are blue and red)

i am not really looking to hear a manufactuer war that sony sucks, go alpine, or this company sucks bla bla bla i am looking for the controls as any name brand deck is gonna sound good enough for me(but i dont want to crappy)

so in recap....what decks have sub level control?

I have a panasonic mp3 head unit that's blue and red since my interior is blue and red too. I got mine at circuit city for $95, but it was about 160-170 originally. It was on sale for 130 and they offered free install. The way they ring up free install is they subtract $35 from the head unit and then add $35 for the cost of install to the total so it equals the same. I then went to customer service after I got it and told them i didn't want to pay for the install. They fell for it and i got an additional $35 refunded. Try to do that, maybe it'll work for you too. But I know mine has the control for a sub and that sony one should have it too since it isnt that cheap. Just try to go through the menus again to find it.

hey, if you could, read the other posts about cd players... ive answered alot about different kinds.... Alpine has different colors... so does the.... JVC AK7000 i think? somethin like that..

You see, Sony puts a lot more emphasis on things such as full color LCD screens and being able to upload your personal pictures to the head unit than things that affect sound quality.

I wouldn't be surprised if the head unit has no sub control...my Sony Xplod(that was free) was fairly expensive a couple years ago when my friend got it, and it has all kinds of visual display features, but low voltage pre-outs, no sub control, and poor sound and build quality in general.

If you want me to name some good decks with red illumination, I can list some for you.

A lot of the newer Alpine units allow you to adjust the button color to one of 512 colors. I know the Clarion DXZ835MP allows you to adjust the LCD display and buttons to one of 728 colors.

Some of the Kenwood and JVC head units, though I don't have much experience or knowledge on either, allow for the buttons(and LCD display on some models) to be red as well.

yea, one reason i've kept my sony for so long is that it matches my guages so well, i always looked at alpines but they always had only the one color now i think its time i switched.

go to a car audio shop...or Best Buy and such and check out the HU's they have their.. play around with them and see which you like best.... what YOU like is all that matters.. but remember we all have opinions, and we will try and help you the best we can if you want opinions on a certain deck.. also look at the features(specs) of the cd player.. just because it has a million colors doesnt mean anything... oh and price match ofcourse..

yeah...i did go to best buy to look at all the decks....but i didnt look at alpine since i didnt know the colors could be changed.

the guy at best buy knew little to nothing about any of them and the tags next to the units were wrong on quite a few....like best buys tag said that the sony 8810 had an aux in and it said that the 7810 only had 2 inputs

i dont really like the looks of the clarions even though i know they are a good unit, and the alpines werent my favorite...but ill look at them again....but is there any other places besides cardomain and crutchfield that are good to get a deck?

ok....so round 2 of deck shopping and i am leaning toward the clarion z655....(yeah i know i said i didnt like the looks...but closer looking and i dont thinks its too bad now:) )but it looks like that is the 2004 model.

does anyone know when the 05 model clarions come out?

any other 05 models that havent come out from other manufactuers?

i dont want to buy and have a sweet new clarion come out in 2 weeks

new products usually come out around the beginning of the year and summer... you can call or email Clarion, or Crutchfield or something..
