Hey guys, don't flame me cause I already did the search thing. Just couldn't find exactly the information I needed.

Anyways, I have a 1997 GT manual celica now. In 3 months when school is over, I am doing the 3sgte swap......I already have the motor.

I want to keep the car for a while, and all I am doing is swapping in the motor and put on a blow-off valve.

What is the most efficient clutch if I continue to use the 5sfe tranny for the swap??

I know performance clutches isn't very good on the tranny, so should I just stick to the oem?? Is the exedy an oem clutch?? What clutch would you recommend me using?? What kind of clutch do you guys use??

I suggest to go with oem clutch if you're using the 5sfe tranny.
Thats what I used on mine and it still pretty good, but I want more traction so im working on the mr2 tranny swap this spring.
hope this helps you.

Ciao...

If you are not going to mod the car, I would use a stock clutch. You will need a hybrid clutch if you are going to use the GT tranny. Do a search there is a ton of information on it. If your goals exceed 200whp, I would get an aftermarket clutch of somekind. I recommend Clutchmasters and Spec. up to Stage 3 for stock-like pedal feel.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

if you use and mr2 tranny, then the stock clutch will work fine, because its made to handle the power that and mr2 makes. if you keep your gt tranny, the stock clutch will not last long. my act Street Disk (oem type of holding power) did ok for about 6 months but started sliping as soon as i started running more then 10psi of boost.

i would recomend a spec stage 2 or stage 3, or clutchmasters stage 3.
