hey guys aite normally i'm a "original motor" person but think i've come across a reasonable deal
offer: USDM 5th gen all-trac 3sgte 100,000 miles (just the motor) 500$ need to complete swap: 5sfe tranny (94-99 prefered)-$-est 500$ clutch (94-99)------------------150$ motor mount (pass side)------50$ new axels-----------------------100-200$ 255lph fuel pump--------------100.00$ FMIC----------------------------170.00$ EMS: greddy emanagment(standalone since i don't have a 3sgte harness)-350$ or megasquirt (couldn't find a price or anything like that) so in an estimate i'm spending 500 500 150 50 150 100 170 350 ~2000usd$ in parts? let me know what i'm missing! and such |

Dude, you got alot to work out. Emanage first off, isnt an EMS, its a piggy back fuel controller. If your cutting corners with cheap intercoolers and 60$ piping its going to bite you in the ass.
No matter what, you need the FULL harness. This has disaster written all over it and I hate to burst your bubble but I'd start weighing other options. This post has been edited by Supersprynt: Mar 29, 2005 - 1:27 AM -------------------- |

You can be optimistic or you can be a knowledgable buyer so you dont have to hope. A harness can cost up to $200.

yea that list you made is pretty much usless, everything super is telling ya is right, cheaping out on ANYTHING when your doing it will bite you in the end.
and a usdm motor with 100k in it is NOT a good candidate for a swap.. another thing is you'd be VERY luck to find a harness for 200... without it you need a FULL standalone EMS, not a piggyback...ie 1200+ plus the tuning time to get it running correctly. a swap is NEVER cheap or easy, if your looking for it to be either, you got another thing comming. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

eh well lets see for the hell of it in all actuality i'm goin 7afte along those lines but yea johnnyracecar intercoolers arn't cheap i've actually heard a couple of good things about intercoolers from them and as for piping just gotta know the right people to get it from mmk so figure i'll just stick with my original 7afte plans |

playr158, sorry bro, but your plan just dont seem realistic.
an emanage is a piggy back not a full stand alone. you will need the wirirng harness, ecu, AFM, ignitor, coil, resistor packs, etc just to get the car running. a realistic ballpark price to spend is around 3-4,000 if you do your own laybor and GET A CLIP. -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned
