Easter, THE MOST EXCITING ONE I'VE HAD, Just read the story Options

Well, i take my girlfriend to easter dinner at my grandma's in Barry Illinois, a little farm town in pike county. Basically, i own 1000 acer's easy of forest and farm land. So, naturally, i do a lot of off-roading, farming, and hunting. So, i have this huge creek running through the middle of my land, and i always have to cross it, tractors, suv's, anything everything, and i've had a crossing spot for years on years. Today, i crossed it with my jeep, and went exploring to show my GF where i hunted this season, and we spotted some turkey and deer, and i just showed her some gorgeous viewing spots, it was great.

We decide to head back and we come to the creek, simple as ever, i drop off the side of the bank, and start treading across in 4x4 (this is a 1996 Jeep Cherrokee Country Edition by the way) and all the sudden, the front of the jeep starts turning right and dipping. I though S.H.I.T!!!!!! I knew the jeep was sinking, but what i didn't know was the creek bed was collapsing. I threw it into reverse to see if i could say it (4x4) and it didn't do anything, so i quickly turned the engine off. The only part of my red cherrokee that was above water was the driver's side windows and doors and if you split the roof half and half, the drivers side was above water. On the front side, the only part visible happen to be the front left corner and part of the hood. For all you jeep fanatic's out there, you know that the air intake is on the left top corner of the engine bay, so that was luck. The water filled in level to the creek, it was terrible. I wish i had a camera.

My girlfriend is of course freaking out by now, and i tell her to climb into the back seat, she does so, my power was still working (?????) and i rolled the driver's side windows down, climbed out, and helped her onto the roof. This is where i jumped in the (30-35 degree) water and wade to the shore. I ran up on to the road (my cell phone didn't have signal down in the creek) and called my uncle. He brought one of the tractors down. Gave me a chain and said hook it. This is where i dove underwater and connected it to the tow mount. He pulled it out like a champ. Here's the amazing lucky part. The engine started right up, no water in the oil and no water in the transmission. My uncle started heading back (he crossed back across the creek) and the creek bed collapsed again!!!! The tractor was at a 50 degree angle, and my uncle was just throwing it into different gears trying to save it, thank God he did. So now, we have to find a new crossing....

After getting back to the farm house (15 miles down the main road) i got out and checked the trans fluid again, WATER. Foggy, orange **** on the dip stick. So basically, i spend another 4-5 hours draining and taking the dust guard off to find that the flywheel has no hole to drain the Converter. SO>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Anybody that has any jeep experience, where is the drain plug for the converter, and how do i drain it. (i probably have 4 quarts of water in the converter).

sounds like tons of fun...i have no advice for ya never worked on a jeep. but no about having no foundation under wheels make 4X4 uselses lol.

I use to drive around in my dads old 89 jeep chearokee limited 4x4..

So on the eatsrn shore with my buddies and just driving around. they have all jacked up reneck trucks.. so they bet me to go through there "water pit" it was like a 1/4 mile trail thats just mud water and crapp. It took it like a champ, water up to the doors and still driving in 2wd.. then got stuck poped into 4x4 then hoped right out.. It suprised the **** out of all of us.
