That means you probably have a bigger turbo than you need. Large Turbo takes more time for the vanes to spool up (build RPM) before boost it actually produced. What you need is to go a smaller similar version than that.

what setup are you running? 3sgtes barely have any lag at all. any small turbo will spool up almost instantly. -------------------- 1994 Lexus ES300

If the engine you're going to get is stock, you will not have turbo lag....You can expect it if you switch to a bigger turbo....

there is NO lag stock. only when you get up into the 400+ hp area, which costs a lot of $$, will you run into lag. serious upgrades will have to be done before it's an issue. -------------------- 1994 Lexus ES300

Go for a turbo with ceramic blades, it doesn't take as long
for the inertia to be overcome as with a steel bladed one, size is also a factor too |

Squeeze some juice for no lag.
Improve air flow(i.e airfilter/exhaust/dp/elbow/...etc). That's all i could think of right now. |

What you can also look at is the right Compressor to Turbine wheel size.
SportCompact Car Magazine had a very good issue on this topic. Check out the June - August 2002 issue. Try to get a turbo for a 2l engine or from a high power 1.8L car. -------------------- West_Minist
