whats the point for del the egr setup?

just less crap on the motor.
i also deleted the a/c idle up valve, PS idleup valve, and the VSV's attached to the back of the intake manifold.

didnt seem like it to me..lol
waiting on parts sucks, and having to work 1-2hrs at a time made things take alot longer than it really should have.

changed the oil this am (100miles) and will again @ 250, then switch back to synthetic @ 500.

changed the oil yesterday @ 270miles, just about no metal at all in it, which is good.
a note to guys with relocation kits.
if your using the trans-dapt relocation peice for the filter side of your setup, dont ever use penzoil filters.

since i am breaking in the motor, i am using dino oil, and penzoil happen to be on sale at the local advance auto.
so, i picked up oil and a filter for 15$, and did the oil change, figuring "hell, its only gonna be on there for ~150miles, why waste a toyota filter for that?!"
started the car up, and had 0 oil pressure. after a bit of cursing, and checking things out, i switched back to the toyota filter that was on there previously, started the car, and had perfect pressure again.
hrm...damn penzoil filter must be defective or somthing!
other than that, all is well so far.
i was hoping to have enough miles on the car to hit the dyno before the CSP meet, but it dont look like that is going to happen.
oh well, a few more weeks and i'll be ready to go, i've already got the itch like crazy! i have to keep convincing myself the engine isnt ready yet!!! haha

im not really sure. we'll just have to see when i hit the dyno.
no plans right now to run any more boost than i have in the past.

thanks jim.

i normally run toyota filters as well, just happen to use the penzoil cause it was basicly free, and i didnt have another clean toyota filter in the garage at the time.

P - it's because ALL toyota filters use a check valve to keep oil ready to go into the motor on startup - some/most aftermarket ones do not.
Bet you don't do that again laugh.gif

no no, d, this wasnt a no oil pressure on startup, followed by oil pressure thing, this was ZERO oil pressure...like none. check valve or not, within a few seconds you should have full pressure at the gauge. when i didnt after 10+ seconds, i wasnt about to let it continue to run to find out if it would ever come up..lol

and no, i dont normally, and will never again use a penzoil, or any aftermarket filter. smile.gif

check compression, fix any leaks. if the engine is healthy, just boost it!

What should the compression be on the 5sfe?

spec: 178 PSI or more
minimum pressure: 142 PSI
difference between each cylinder: 14 PSI or less

remember to fully open the throttle while cranking.

we finally made it over to the dyno today

set it up, and let her rip.

just to sum up the changes since the last dyno, we've added:

webcams "294" grind
fidanza LW flywheel
2.5"intercooler piping
26X12X3 intercooler
devils own water injection
and the emanage ultimate.
once i got things going, i set up the map clamp on the emanage ultimate, i cranked up the boost alittle and this is what it gave us.
once again, we used a 50/50 mix of 93 pump and 110 sunoco race fuel.

Attached Image

more comparison charts to come later.
