sad to see you are gonna give up on this, but it is understandable why. Still this remains one of the most epic builds on the site! i dont think thats giving up, that is taking it to the next level. 5s is good car, but 3s is the way to go, too bad the parts are not that easy to get, but definetely the way to go... -------------------- Learned a lot in 10 years... I just wanted to clarify something I may have missed.
You will be keeping the car but swapping out the engine correct? Or keep the car and start with a fresh project car? I am assuming you are going to just engine swap it and I wish you the best of luck with that. Would this also mean that parting of the old engine will come shortly after? I can already hear the turbo vultures licking their chops lol. This probably belongs in a new thread but do you have any plans as far as power goals for the 3s? Staying FWD or going GT-4 style? |

keeping the car, swapping out the motor yes. the turbo parts will be sold off. no crazy power goals with the new motor, ~300whp, FWD. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

wow sorry if i seemed to offend everybody.
I meant, give up as on the 5sfte, the title of this thread. YES a 3sgte is a bigger and better thing, still not a 5s. . . But still good luck with your future boost Manny. -------------------- ◊◊◊ My F/S Thread! ◊◊◊
QUOTE (14:19:21) Daniel: That was a JDM hole in the side of the box too. There was so much JDM trapped inside that box that they couldn't contain it, so they had to put a JDM hole in the box to let the JDM out. pulled the motor 2 weeks ago. tore it down yesterday. broken ringland on the #2 piston. other than that, there is no damage to the block. parts are listed in the FS section, own a piece of 6gc history! lol thats about all she wrote for the good ole 5sfte. hope you guys learn as much from this thread as i did building it. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

Sorry to see it end, but it's being replaced by a 3S, so I'm pretty sure we'll get over it.
Also, one last thing you need to learn...there is no page 23. Turn off your noob settings! This post has been edited by SwissFerdi: Jun 20, 2010 - 10:13 AM -------------------- '97 ST \ Eibach \ KYB \ Kenwood \ Alpine \ Cusco \ OEM+ [sold 10/18]

One day when I'm on my feet and have a decent amount of disposable income I'm going to buy another 6th gen, and when I do I plan on breaking all the 5sfte records you set, lol But seriously, this car was the inspiration for me to blow all my time and money on mine and I don't regret it one bit. Maybe when you get the 3s and start doing crazy things it'll inspire me to build up the alltrac... lol

Is this a sticky?? It should be Back to the front It's common knowledge to use the Search feature, and Search by Member "Pressure2" if anything must Absolutely, Positively be found in it's complete and total informitivitiy. (yes i just made that word up) I'll second a sticky though. since i been fielding a bunch of questions about the ct-27, ill go ahead and add some pics and details here about it, for future refrence i kno im really late but ats is bad a$$ i live in denton tx im always up there ... there mr2 are so sick the ct-27 is basicly a ct-26 upgrade that has been developed by ATS racing. what it consists of is a ct-26 core, that has a TO4E "46" trim compressor wheel put in, and extensive machine work to the exhaust housing, to free up flow. on top of that, i also had the wastegate area ported out, to try and prevent boost creep. it still creeps but part of that is because i have a 3" turbo back exhaust too. a ct-27 will run you 850$ with a good, working core, or 1150 without. not cheap by ANY sense of the word. then again, your basicly getting a BRAND NEW turbo, with a 1yr warranty. here are a few pics of what mine looked like before i sent it: the whole turbo: the compressor side: the exhaust side: now for the AFTERS!! the TO4E 46 trim compressor wheel: the exhaust side: the ported wastegate: and there ya go! the ct-27 from ats racing kicks A$$ |

What fuel injectors will fit in the 5fse engine. Someone said the RX7 fit in good, what year rx7? Others say the supra ones fit. Can you clear this up for me. Also how come the 3sgte injectors don't fit?
Is there a intake manifold that fit the engine I can use that's not off the 3sgte. Is the solara 4 cyl intake bigger? I plan on doing the 5sgte swap as soon as I get a 3sgte engine to pull off of but i want my car to perform a bit better until then. -------------------- |
