First off, this was our first time at the Redding Drag Strip in Redding CA, and to be honest... we were all fairly disappointed. Their timeslip printer was broken, but we got a bunch of videos, but those unfortunately are quite dark... =[

On the good side... for all of you Honda haters... here's some n/a power for ya.
My cousin's EP3 02 Civic SI hatch... moderate street tune, open exhaust, bolt-ons, other nick knacks I'd rather not go into too much detail with, purely n/a, hit his best of 13.678 tonight on street tires. We couldn't even get the drag slicks off my 5x100's so he could run them. The reaction and all is unknown... cause there was no timeslips. He was trapping around 105-110 mph though... ;] His other runs were from 14.3 (slowest) to 13.6 (fastest).

The other weapon, 93 Honda Civic CX hatchback, BASE model with nothing but a B16B CTR motor, fully tuned with the usual honda stuff, and our very special ECU program, again, PURE N/A. His best was a 13.9 with a 113 mph trap speed. He shoulda been a LOT faster only if we coulda got the slicks ready. He was pretty consistent between low 14's and high 13's all night... but his traps were always hella fast. I'm assuming very poor 60 footers with this one. It just couldn't grab.

Anyway... we were the fastest Hondas there. There was a turboed EG hatch (B18A turbo) that my cousin embarassed twice (he only ran 15.0 on video)... and then there was a sponsored BEAST of an S14 there with a stock block blacktop SR20 that ran high 11's. He was the fastest import there, followed by us, then that tubo Civic hatch. On a side note... the CRX's at the scene did a through job of making themselves look silly. They talked a lot of trash in the pits to the import guys (btw, were VERY FEW) and the fastest one ran a 16.7. Hehehe... It was our first time at the Redding drag strip, and seemingly we gained some respect from the regular muscle car guys. One guy came over and asked if "that electric car" (EP3) had a V6 or something... we laughed and told him it was a 4 banger... a 2 liter 4 banger, then he laughed and said "very very respectable". There were some monstrous domestics there... the fastest of the night being a 69 maro with HUGE wrinkle walls and even a wheely bar, which caused the car to barely make it off the trailer. That sucker ran a 9.8 something and it was bloody loud... that's all... thought I'd share. I'll see if I can clear up some webspace for a few video clips.

Sounds good man. I always love to here stories form the track. I love Honda's too. I grew up with nothing but muscle cars. And I know those guys think 4 bangers are stupid. My dad got me an Isuzu Implus for my first car because he though I didn't need anything fast, lol. He later gave the car a lot of respect for how fast it was. Let me know if any of your kin want to trade of a 6th gen in exilent condition.
